Are you worried about Identity Theft?

Not really surprising if you are, if you're a UK resident, given the government and media scaremongering on this issue. (The latest in a list of fear issues used to peddle the NIR and ID card scheme)

The fact is, Identity Theft is a very real and immediate threat to everyone in the UK.

It is the expressed intention of the UK Government to steal the identity of every person living in the UK.

Those who want their own identity will have to buy it back.

Those who object to paying to prove they exist can try to get along without work, or the NHS, or a pension, or a passport.

That will only work for a while, because it is also the expressed intention of the UK Government to ultimately make registration and ID card ownership compulsory, with punitive 4 figure fines and possible imprisonment for those who wish to be excluded.

If not successfuly challenged, the Government WILL steal your identity, it will make you pay to have it back, and its ultimate aim is to make it illegal NOT to buy it back.

I have been unable to find an e-mail address dealing with non-financial identity theft, but the Home Office are supposedly dealing with the problem, so their e-mail address is reproduced here.

public.enquiries@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk

I suggest that if you are concerned about this issue, you and everyone else you know who is worried about identity theft contact them and inform them of these plans to steal your identity.
