Fav. Type of Movie

Hey, I like movies...oh, right the thread! Let's just make this a popular for a few minutes thread about what movies you like. I don't really expect this thread to last longer then, lets say, 10 minutes. And by saying that I expect thousands of arguments saying, "No! This thread shall last 15 minutes," causing it to actually last 20 minutes...and so on and so forth.

Well, anywho, you can argue here about your favourite movies or about how long this thread is going to last for. Or if you want just be completely random, I feel random today.

Arghhh! I hate horror, mainly because it's so interesting. Whenever I start watching horror I can't leave, and damn the grudge, it's responsible for so many damn nightmares.

P.S sorry for forgetting "Horror", Just select Other.

It was kinda like that but it was reality, something about people partying the whole time.

Nope, Reality TV is the physical embodiment of all of humanity's past and future trangressions....

Reality tv isn't entertainment, it's punishment.

Why didn't put down Sci-fi/fantacy? It's possibly one of the most popular categories out there! Come on man. Have we forgot about the star wars saga, or Star Trek movies? Or, what about the Riddick movies, Close encounters of the third kind? ET? These are just some of the most popular movies out there.

Oh yeah, for fantacy there is Lord of the Rings (11 academy awards man)
and... the potter movies.

Seen the Shinning. Half of the original and all of the remake. The remake was better. I read the first 70 pages of IT. Couldn't really get into it. I hear it's a good book though.

What do you define as "foreign" movies"?

Anyways, I picked Adventure (I don't know, I really like stupid, nonsensical Films as long as they're interesting), Philosopical (This is quite the opposite of the above, but I like both) and foreign ('cause I really do like french films very much indeed).
anyway, I think what I like most is films that cover several categories all at once - take Vidocq, propably my favourite movie: It's like a crime film, but it does contain Horror (or Fantasy? Can't tell them apart) elements. And, it's french :D .

Foreign is a genre?!?!

I made it a genre. If you like movies made by other country's companies (eg. bollywood) then you like foreigne movies.

What the hell? Foreign is not a genre and renders the entire badly written poll irrelevant.
Cannot think of a name

I made it a genre. If you like movies made by other country's companies (eg. bollywood) then you like foreigne movies.
But they can be movies that are in other genres as well, even Bollywood (though a HUGE chunk of them all share at least the partial classification 'muscial')-it deminishes foriegn films to cartoonish representations of the Bollywood musical sequence (yes, I know that was me...) or the black and white clown with the dead rose.

Saying "I like foriegn film" is like saying, "I want to look important about my tastes in film without doing all that studying of film." There is an inherent difference in the way other countries even view films, much less make them, but it's different for each country and, just like the American films, different from decade to decade and artist to artist. It can't simply be reduced even under it's own nationality, much less under the vague umbrella 'foriegn.' (Is Lord of the Rings foriegn? If so, what marks it as New Zealand cinema, or excludes it?)

It's a coffee table selection, pure affectation.

I like movies that don't follow a predictable plot line, ones that make you wonder what the hell just happened!!,that sometimes force you to go back and watch it again, i.e.. Memento, Shallow Grave,The Last Supper, as well as movies like The Sixth Sense,Pulp Fiction, Five Days in The Valley, and I must add one movie that alot of people passed on because of the subject matter and definitely unhappy ending, starring among others, Cameron Diaz,it was called ''Very Bad Things''.Anybody heard of it?

I prefer romantic comedies over all. Second would be epics.
