Killzone 2- R.I.P HALO

Has anyone seen the trailer for Killzone 2? It's coming out on PS3 as soon as the new system is released, and if the entire game is anything like the trailer, it will officially put HALO to shame.
The trailer appears to be a mix of actual gameplay and pre-rendered cinematics, but the graphcs and sound are absolutly incredible. This is a game I cannot wait to get my hands on besides SOCOM 3 (another game that will leave HALO in the dust), and hopefully we'll see a bit more footage before it's released.

I'll believe it when it comes out. Halo 2 was by no means even close to a perfect game, but killzone 1 was positively substandard.
Anyway, Halo 2 was a leap above Halo, and I daresay I have high hopes for Halo 3. Time will tell.

It was a tech-demo. AKA bullshit. My computer could run it and it's a mid-range laptop. That's because it was a cutscene.
That and Killzone was shite, I hold no hopes for 2.

I got Legends - The cube version. I love it. I'm playing it again currently - so far i've just been to the Great Silver Shrine, so i'm about to get the bit where they raise Soltis and use the Rains of destruction.

Aw man. I traded mine in *bangs head repeatedly* and can't find another copy. One day...
How do you beat the Impostors BTW? Whatever I do they take Aika down in about 2 turns then slaughter the rest even w/Justice+Delta shield up permenantly. Or they just use their versio of Lambda Burst every turn and I diethat way.

It depends on what you're into, like if you like killzone you like dudes goin around in jungles and cities shooting.....whatever
But if you like halo you like dudes in futuristic armor suits jumping out of space stations killing aliens. That or the monks chanting...

Killzone rules. It's futuristic, but not Halo futuristic with lasers. All the weapons in Killzone are just realistic upgrades of the weapons we have now, and I could imagine a war like in Killzone actually happening.
The graphics are good, warlike, although the graphics were also the main problem, or more the PS2, that couldn't handle it.
It's nice to see that it's heavy to run, since you obviously can't run like an athlete when you have a big weapon in your hands and armour on. The reloading is also cool.
The levels are good, ranging from jungle to city and from mountains to trenches. The carachters are cool.
Offcourse it couldn't win from Halo 2, the makers of Killzone don't have much experience, and have a much smaller budget then the makers of Halo. Killzone is generally under-estimated, it has been out for a while, and I still play it with my friends, and I can't wait till Killzone 2.

My tactic requires you to be level 40. It's simple. You focus in the first turn, while using Delta shield and Justice shield with Enrique and Aika. In the second turn, have fina use Lunar winds to take away the Incremus they cast in the first round, and have Vyse use an Aura of Valor. This fills ya spirit bar. Then use Prophecy in the next round, and this'll all but kill them. But it wont.
Next turn, give Vyse a glyph of might, to make him stronger, and have him cutlass fury Faina. She will die, and you will have freed up Aika from using delta shield... as well as some extra spirit points. Vize is completely useless without the others, so take out Anita with a pirates wrath, and then Vize will fall like a bowling pin.
Victory won, you get your title back, and they surrender. If you ever find it again, remember these tips.

Thanks. Never realised what Aura of valour did. Bring it Vize you bastard! :sniper:

Regardless if it was a cutscene or not, the graphics they have generated are a huge leap forward. The audio was also impressive: hearing the AA fire, the screams of the dying ISA, and so on. Take this into consideration though, there was actual gameplay that was incorporated into that cutscene, so it does give you a rough idea of what you can expect.
From what I've head there are a lot of cool changes and additions you can expect in Kilzone 2, so to say that because it's 'only a cutscene' ,the game will be crap is ignorant. There were several grapics, AI, and audio, and functionality problems in Killzone 1 that have been addressed (and from what I've heard, fixed), so don't count Killzone 2 out just yet.

That Killzone2 Tech Demo, which, btw, was built to spec so even though it's a rendered cutscene, it's still what ya see is what ya get. It'll kick ass, but I kinda like Geist better.
for starters: i'm sorry, but your wrong.
nothing on a console can beat halo
now if you bring pc's into the mix... then you bring the competition
granted socom2 was a nice change from ps2's monotomy of rpg's
also granted god of war was an awsome game
but overall sony has had absolutly no foot hold in the fps catagory
and unless they compleatly revamp their whole out look on games, they should stick to what they are remotly good at: rpg's
...and they need a little help there too

K1 had quite a bit of potential but it was plagued by coding errors and shittastic framerates, the latter of which shouldn't be a problem on the PS3

I find that too many people cheat on HALO 2, so it's never worth playing.

I'm sorry, HALO is not the end-all-be-all of shooting games. To me it was slightly above average, and to tell you the truth there was nothing about it that really stood out to me. I find SOCOM 2 many times more enjoyable than HALO, which I get bored with fast.
now if you bring pc's into the mix... then you bring the competition
Well of course! You're talking a desktop computer that functions how many times faster than a console? No contest.

Sony has had plenty of good 3rd person shooter games, and a fair share of decent 1st person shooters. Killzone 2 looks like it will pound HALO right into the ground with ease, and as Evil British Monkeys said, what you saw on that demo is what you'll get. And if this is the case, then I cannot wait to get my hands on this game.

I've only seen a few screens, it looked awesome enough. Beating Halo is an easy enough task though, they couldn't even get weapon balance right, being the single worst balanced game I have ever played, without exception. Sure it's fun enough, single player is fairly absorbing... but multiplayer is a joke. I don't know why anyone would play it when there are pages of better multiplayer games. Almost 100% of them on the PC.
I hope Killzone 2 is good, I've never played the first one though. I hope every game is good though... no point wishing for a rubbish game.

I would hope that Killzone, Killzone 2, etc would all put Halo to shame, considering Halo was released, what? Three years before Killzone?
As for SOCOM, great game; too bad comparing it to Halo is like comparing a first-person shooter to a third-person shooter... oh wait... that's exactly what it is. You can't compare two radically different types of games like that.
