Um they are evil after all and they don't exactly try to hide it like those sneaky jedis like mace windu who want to weild power from behind the scenes.

Why is it strange? It just means Lucas wants names to sound foreign, but not actually go to more effort than chopping bits off words.

Why does George Lucas even bother thinking of names, with the ridiculously blatant names such as "Grievous" and "Sidious" he might as well call his baddies "Evil" and "Bad".

i acctually like it when story writers bend real words so the names of their characters have some acctual meaning to it, instead of just something that just sounds cool. it takes a bit more effort on their part

Interestingly enough, "Vader" did not come from "invader". It's a word from some language, the name of which escapes me at the moment, and it means "father".

The sith aren't evil. The jedi are evil, who else would want to genocide the sith? Also the sith are really nice people. Take the Red Faced one, he ended up killing one of the evil Jedi, but unfortunatly was killed. Also the Jedi train 3 year olds to become killers.

But Star Wars is horrible. Every single thing about it. If they can make ships travel light speed, then why can't they make a projectile that moves fast? A laser travels slower then a crossbow bolt, or an arrow.

The Sith creed does not sound particularly evil. It seems like emotion triumphing over tranquility rather than a good/evil ideology.

The Sith are not "evil". Evil is simply a point of veiw. If a serial killer kills someone, he thinks that what he did was a good thing. But the family of the deceased would think that it was an evil thing. Good and evil are in the Eye of the Beholder.
