Myrth

Sorry to post two threads in quick succession, but is Myrth even still here? We still see Myrth options in polls, but no posts by Myrth. Come to think of it, I don't remember seeing that many in the first place.

I agree.

Myrth was that ex-moderator, right? Why'd he leave?

Maybe it's time for a new favorite moderator.

Probably because his name is pretty cool.

So what is the story behind this Myrth character, anyway?

Not a clue. I think he became famous while I wasn't playing (or not visiting the general forum) - note, Marmite Toast not my oldest nation.

Does anyone know?

My limited understanding is the he was de-modded for some type of unethical behavior. Something to do with revealing a players invasion strategy or something. I don't really understand because I am one of those boring generalites that doesn't do that. (From what I can gather, there were considerable polemics concerning this).

Since then he hasn't been around, probably embarrased I expect. I am sure someone else can give you a fuller picture if you need it.

When did he begin? I'm a n00b, if you speak in such terms.

If you are human, however, I know little of the proud history of the forums.

Myrth was not de-modded - he stepped down himself. He didn't do anything to actually warrant de-modding, but he did make a mistake, which he apologised for and which was dealt with in full transparency. The subsequent attacks on him from certain factions on here led to him voluntarily stepping down.

I think I read a little about that incident.

So why do they put his names on polls sometimes?

Look at the edited parts: "Myrth busted himself down to retired on 1/6/05."

So why do they put his names on polls sometimes?

It started before I joined, but I think it had something to do with Myrth being such an active mod, that some polls about power or greatness started having him as an option, and then "Myrth" became a sort of joke option for anyone who couldn't or wouldn't choose any of the "serious" ones.

Because someone decided that there should be a mandatory Myrth option for all polls. *Rolls eyes* People thought this was funny/cool/witty/whatever, and now it's a fad.

And I agree that it's getting tired, but when the Myrth is scrapped, another mod will take it's place.

Tis fine, I realized when I read your post I wasn't the most clear about it. lol, I'm going to hate you if you're right. *Shakes fist* Considering we have at least a dozen or so mods to choose from, the "mod option" could go on for a very long time.

Whoa! whoa! Wait...

*grabs hold of keyboard as the world spins round*

are you saying that Myrth is no longer a mod?

omg...omg...NS will never be the same again. Myrth was always Myrth in spite of what others said and did, he remained firmly himself and i admire him for that.

I feel sad. Nothing stays the same...next Coggy will become an Non-Mod...or do i mean an Un-mod?

jeez...seems i've been absent from the main forums for way too long....

y'know what? today really sucks

I'm still a little new to this game. I don't even know what a Mod does.We enforce the rules of the site (most of which can be found here (http://www.forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=416023)). Specifically, we issue official warnings if people break the rules and we forumban players or delete their nations if they continue breaking the rules.
