"An autopsy on Terri Schiavo backed her husband's contention that she was in a persistent vegetative state, finding that she had massive and irreversible brain damage and was blind, the medical examiner's office said Wednesday. It also found no evidence that she was strangled or otherwise abused."

Does this change anybody's mind?

Yes, it makes me lose any hope that the media is at all an important adjunct to society. I didn't care about Schiavo when it was as big an issue as the war in Iraq or the war on terrorism, and I don't care about her now.

What's your point? That her brain was really potted meat product?

I think his point is that a large part of the argument many people had against the removal of her feeding tube was that she had a chance at recovery and that she wasn't in a "persistant vegatative state". The autopsy proves, however, that she was severely brain damaged with no hope of recovery and that everything the "pro-lifers" were calling signs of her mental capacity were nothing more than instinctive motor skills.

I really hope you are not planning on using that same text formet with EVERY post.

And the autopsy disproved the vicious accusations that she was abused by her husband or that she was injected with anything by him.

As long as I tell borderline tasteless jokes that barely get a laugh, I think we'll be ok.

I know there aren't enough Schiavo brains to go around, so some of you will have to share.

*remembers that some posters had stated they would apologize for the vile and baseless accusations they threw in the husbands direction if the autopsy would show there really was nothing more that could have been done*

*wonders if they will honour their word - since they did claim to "have the moral high ground" (sic)*

Unlikely. I think it much more likely that we'll see accusations that the doctor was biased or paid off.

No, I still think it was extremely selfish of her family to try and keep her alive, If I was like that I'd have like to have gone years before.
