You heard my bitch about fire alarms in this place ( http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=424937 ), tonight my beef is with the heating.
Despite the fact that it is the middle of June, it has been cold this week. Sufficiently cold that the little bit of heat you get from the central heating pipes when the radiator is off, warms the room to a comfortable temperature.
Last couple of mornings, I have woken up so cold I'm shivering. Tonight I was told that the caretaker has left after falling out with the management - and get this - they can't get the heating system restarted without him. Apparently, it is so antiquated that it requires specialist knowledge which he has taken with him.
FFS!
Last summer, they couldn't switch the heating off, and the rooms were like ovens even with the windows opened. Knock on someone's door in the afternoon, and they would ask you to wait while they put some clothes on. Now people are wearing sweaters indoors.
Why can't they get it right? Aaargh. And yeah, I know that no-one cares and this thread will sink unread to the bottom of the forum, but I just wanted to have the satisfaction of venting before getting into a bed which feels like the inside of a fridge.
