I can't sleep. I've tried reading. Actually trying to sleep, meditating. In a final attempt I am trying nationstates.

Anyone have any suggestions...preferably legal!

An eight hour marathon rugby game. You'll sleep like the dead. :)

Take three pills and call me in the morning.

Honestly I have found that if I lay down and begin imagining I live in the world of Star Trek I fall asleep instantly. I have always wondered if that said more about me or the tv show.

I had started up an identical thread a couple of months ago:

Hope it helps.

Its 12.30am, the only Rugby players I know would take my suggestion for a rugby game at this hour as an invitation for something else....which would tire me out.....if there were a whole team!!!

What kind of Pills??

hmm, well. . .if I suggest actual pills I will be beaten severely by any doctor on the forum so I will avoid that. How about aspirin?
Oh I like STV also, an enjoyable show to watch but, no joke, everytime I think about living in that world when I am lying in bed I fall asleep within two or three minutes. I will be in the middle of a halodeck program and the next hting I know I am waking up at 6:00 am.

Yes! Uh... wait a minute. No. Well - how do you define preferably?

Don't watch TV, and staring at a computer screen actually doesn't help much, either: The repeat rates are given your head a spin (even if the eyes don't catch up).

* My solution to the same problem: Pick a good book you like to read (works best if you wanna read a lot) Use a red bulb instead of a white one. Sounds weird, but isn't harmful to the eyes in any way. But reading (movement) and darker environment (focussing) is work for the eyes and they get tired, hence - your eyes fill fall shut.

That's how I usually end up and it works.

Totally lacking in sleep is normal for over half our population. The reason for this is mostly stress related or you have experienced a crisis of some sort. Your best option is to wait it out until your body in a sense crashes. Don't take cat naps in the afternoon if you are doing that. This causes your body to not go to sleep at night. Don't drink anything caffine related and don't eat after 8pm. try watching a boring movie or read a very boring book. Chances are you will fall asleep within 30 minutes.

Its only just tonight I can't sleep. I think I'm gonna try and watch a film I really want to see, chances are I won't be able to make it past the first 20 minutes!

Oh.

I, like many others it seems, thought this was an ongoing thing.

Well, it is. With me at least. And I can so totally agree with Lesser Arabia on the last post!

But, alas, I drank coffee this afternoon, I take medication that rises my pulse and I had dinner at 23:30. Bad... And I'm watching (hearing is more likely) TV and sit ifo the computer...

What the hell! I'll just read a little - The Nightmare bids Thee all (Y'all for Southeners!) Good Night!
