You all suck! Why didn't you tell me that love sucks and that you weren't just kidding around?

I'm sorry to hear your loss.

I had to break up with the girl i loved a week or two ago, and I will admit it had left me devastated. But this in no way is any reason to say love sucks.

I cherished every moment i had with her, and even though i may not have her to hold and to love, I do still have my fond memories, and i still care for her.

Love is a very very very very very very touchy emotion. It can bring out the greatest, and the worst, of us. it can make us feel like suicide or it could make us feel that we would die happy. Overall, it's important to know that in the beginning, love wil come and go, but someday you may find someone with whom you will be able to love for the rest of your life. Yes, there may be no love now, but there will be love in the future.

Don't give up. Just pick up your pieces, put them together, reconcile any ties you may still have with him/her, and move on. There are plenty of fish out in the sea.

You wouldn't have listened. The phrase "blinded by love" holds more truth than most would admit. Trust me, I know.

Too depressing. Not to mention pathetic, ironic, and just plain weird.

Cheer up Bosnian emo kid! Theres always someone who's worse off than you, so my advice is to take joy in the misfortune of others and just be glad you're not them!

I love love.
I've had my heart broken, and I still love it. Sometimes the pain is worth the joy, or is that the other way around? :p

I'll have to second Greater Valia's advice...misfortune in others can be great, just not like in cancer patients or sick little kids...it's just wrong then.

I just had the first of what I'm sure will be a number of court dates on my pending divorce.

You don't know "Love Sucks" until you have to pay over $3000 a month in support.

It isn't like you would have listened, is it? Hell, for all we know, some of us did tell you. There are some things for which there is no effective preparation or warning. Love -- ALL aspects of it, from inception to dissolution -- is chief among these things.

Example: I'd been told all my dating life to beware of confusing a pyrotechnic sexual chemistry with real love. It did not matter one whit, as it still happened to me and cost me a lot of time, money and anguish (including a summer in San Marcos, TX *shudder*) to discover. The sex was mind-blowing, but in hindsight, I am sure that I'd rather have discovered that lesson closer to home. Still, I'm glad I learned it without getting married or fathering children. That would have been a disaster.

So be glad you found out what you now know before you begin playing for keeps. Hopefully, it will make you no less passionate, but more circumspect. Best of luck.
