I am drinking Caffeine-Free Diet Coke right now.

Am I the only one who has tried it and wondered, what's the point?

No. But the colour of the can is the best one.

The should make it the regular cola, and put the useless stuff in bright vomit green cans that say "warning - drinking this will cause feelings of futility."

I'm waiting for the non-carbonated line of decaf diet carbonated beverages. Ultimately, I want to see how much money people will shell out for bottles of water with the Coke logo emblazoned down the side...

Isn't Dasani the best-selling brand of mineral water in the US?

Already been done. it was called Desani, however.

people stopped buying it after they realised it was just tap water. They thought it was magical spring water from Narnia or something first.

Wow, I'm so out of touch with consumer culture I'd need a personal masseur for grocery-shopping...

I've had every caffeine free diet pop there is, so yes I've tried it. I'm not really sure what the point is, if you want something with no calories and no caffeine, why not just drink water? Personally, I prefer Diet Coke, with the caffeine still there...

My best friend in the world is a high-level b2b corporate liason for Coke. Even he thinks Caffeine-free Diet Coke is pointless.

Coke's water product is "Dasani" and as far as bottled water is concerned, it tastes pretty good.

I think it's pretty pointless, but you have to admit, the marketting guys who managed to make it as popular as it is deserve every penny they make.

You might as well be drinking water.

That's one way to look at it.

If you'd said they deserve to be the first up against the wall come the revolution, I could get behind that, too.

I wouldn't be opposed to that either, but you have to admit it takes some serious work to convince people to drink what basically amounts to less-healthy, bad-tasting water.

No, you're not. I've often wondered about that one too. :)

In 1887, Dr. John Styth Pemberton from Atlanta gave birth to the world of Coca Cola. He manufactured a non-alcoholic beverage from the leaves of the Andean coca plant and the African cola nut.
