Strategy and Quest Storytelling (SQS)

Please, answer in my poll!

I'm making rules for my RPG-styled strategy game. There will be Demigods (players) and multiverse's Essence (game-master). It will contain simple rules and each Domain will have it's own domain (character) sheet. It will have unique Government Management System (classes). The Campaign setting will be supplied with maps and description. I doubt that it will published but maybe someday I will upload it on the Web - provided that I have tested rules first. Age (gaming session) will have some leading scenario and innovations (The Essence's decission or player-made that are akceped at Essence's discretion). It will have as many simple, efficient and fun twists as many I able to invent myself or rip-off some idea that I think is the best I could ever think of. If you know any similar games or if you have your own ideas - post theme in this thread. If it's something interesting and will add something into SQS games it will be linked in this post.

Please, say what game mechanic I can use as a base for development and adaptation (with examples). I appraised additional comment abut pros and cons of those systems:

Government (Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri, , Dungeons & Dragons, ...)
Setting (please, Take, The Pool, ...)
Powers (esoteric-inspired, UFO: Enemy Unknown, Age of Wonders ...)

I've always been a fan of the post- apocalyptic stuff ... FALLOUT was one of my early favorites.

Three cheers for the Fallout series. I've not played the new console one yet, but the setting for the game is brilliant

Medieval fantasy is always my favorite. I find RPG is always best at an era where there's magic, myth, monsters and swords! D&D. (Oh yeah.. If possible, try and find for the Japanese Manga called "Berserk").

Another one close, if is you do a somewhat Victorian era. Where there's a slight mix of magic and technology. That as people start inventing lightbulbs and gunpowder, magic is slowly fading as it's becoming less popular because research of powerful deadly magic is banned. (Similar to the pc game "Arcanum" By Troika & Sierra).

Arcanm setting is interesting but I just don't like J. Verne's style.
Fallout - great series but I'm not sure if it's good for strategy gaming.
Fantasy - it was my first encounter with RPG's...
That's why I need your opinions, votes and discussion - I have to make my mind ;)
