...the best funny movie ever is wrongfully accused.. but it never gets a second glance (except at my house!)

Wrongfully Accused is all right, but it isn't as good as some of Nielson's earlier comic rolls (Airplane!, Naked Gun etc). Having said that, you're the first person I've ever heard talking about it, so I suppose it is very underrated.

Equilibrium (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0238380/)

Vastly overlooked and underrated movie. Has the coolest fake martial art EVER (Gunkata).

I hate you so very, very much. It's like a crappy version of the Matrix had sex with a crappy version of Fahrenheit 451 and replaced books with emotions.

That's on my list of most OVERRATED films. EVER.

Anyway, underrated films? I can't think of any. Maybe Blazing Saddles, since I never hear anyone talk about that.

And yes it is Mawg. In one scene in the Winnebago you can see a fire hydrant that says "Mawg" on it.

Where the Red Fern Grows, the original 1974 Elanor Lamb adaptation of Wilson Rawls hauntingly inspirational book - not the remake. A chilling story, set during the Great Depression, which shows in remarkable clarity the relationship between a boy and his two hunting dogs. Of course the story delves much further into issues of the time, and into more metaphysical matter. I challenge, that there is not a person among us who would not cry in this film. Of course it falls short of the novel, but then, don't they all?

edit:

In addition, I should add the powerful and somehow overlooked 1993 film A Perfect World. Costner, Eastwood, Laura Dern and of course TJ Lowther all give incredibly moving performances. One of the most obscenely accurate portrayals of a childs need for a father figure. An unlikely premise, and one which casts a very different shadow on the theory of stockholm syndrome.
