Wow. Martin...totally doesn't get it.

I'm afraid to touch this one, in fear of laughing at his ignorance of the Bible and making a fool of 'im.

Texpunditistan, are you up to it?

I was really looking for something else, but I just HAD to share this. I love the bunny... I think I'll send that as cards next Easter... :D

I'm not touching this one with a 10 foot pole. It's obvious that Martin is a blithering idiot when it comes to the Bible, as he has made eroneous assumptions and conclusions and then cherry-picked "evidence" to support those assumptions and conclusions. An intellectual heavyweight, Martin is not. On this board, he'd be called a "troll".

I have to admit, the crucified Easter Bunny was somewhat humorous...but I tend to have a really f**ked up sense of humor.

Erm... it's supposed to be FUNNY, not scientific or methodic ;)

i have no idea whether god exists or does not. i certainly wouldnt predicate my belief on the bible, either. too unsure to be an aetheist, and not self-righteous enough to consider myself "agnostic," i'm mostly unconcerned.

that said, martin is a jackass. let people believe what they want to. make fun of others all you want... in your own home, or with your friends. throwing this kind of shit into the ocean of the internet just fosters hate and resentment, and for all of your talk about a better world, here you are being the same kind of know-it-all punk that you accuse the religious of being.

the easter bunny was hilarious, though.

Just for the record, I am Catholic. And religious. And I still find this page funny.

The article was rather dry and unfunny, in my opinion.

I liked the Easter Bunny though.

Then the author failed miserably. The author comes across as arrogant, condescending and completely clueless. The only thing even slightly funny was the Easter Bunny card at the end.

As an atheist I second the opinion that this page was about as funny as Richard Nixon. The Bunny was OK, but not even that saved the content from being highly forgetable.

Nothing he wrote was funny, I liked the bunny though.

It just seemed like a personal attack against Christians. Like when someone tells a bad joke slandering particular race...in my opinion at least.

I feel kinda disappointed...and misunderstood...not angry though. If that makes any sense at all.

I agree. So much of what he had to say really required you to have no understanding of the bible, history, literature and theology to even remotely buy into it. Like the "one of us" thing suggesting multideism. Yes, that would work if you have no knowledge of angels. I'm not offended because he bashes the Bible. I'm offended because he damages the concept of humor.

Not even a good joke, though. He might as well have said -

Knock, knock
Who's there?
The Bible
The Bible who?
The Bible is dumb.

Bwah, ha, ha!

I find that the points he brought up were pretty sound, the only downside was that the responces to his issues seemed to be rather short and not finished. It seems doctrine is made fun of more then the bible was, and in that light I am all for. I can't stand these doctrines of christians, that say things that you could never find in the bible, but they claim is the way a christian acts.

I didn't personally find the page humorous, because its not my style of humor, but I can definitly see where people would find humor in it. Its more of a humor like a political talk radio host, or at least thats what it reminded me of.

The bunny was funny sh*t though.

It reminds me of this picture of a creature with like a jack-o-lantern head, holding a manora, santa hat on, easter basket, and so forth, and it says, "there, I think I covered everything, Happy Holidays, and leave me the fuck alone till next year."

Actually I laughed at that. I don't why, it just made me laugh. I guess it's just because some bad jokes are funny....and others are just stupid, wrong, and not worth telling.

Dude, that sucked. There is WAAAAY better Christian/bible humor than that available on the net. One of my favorites is "Jesus was Gother than You" (http://www.shanmonster.com/jesus/).

That reminds me of when I was a liiiittle kid. Here's how I told jokes:

Me: Knock knock.
Someone Else: *Sigh.* Who's there?
Me: Tree.
Someone Else: Tree who?
Me: There's a tree over there!

Me: Knock knock.
Someone Else: *Sigh.* Who's there?
Me: Table.
Someone Else: Table who?
Me: Table you!

Me: Knock knock.
Someone Else: *Sigh.* Who's there?
Me: Ladder.
Someone Else: Ladder who?
Me: Ladder lamp!

Oh, yeah, I thought I was hilarious!

This is an insult to atheists everywhere. As an atheist, I did not find this guy's comments funny and it just seemed more like Christian bashing than anything else. The bunny at the end did give me a laugh though.
