I have two cactus plants; one is six years old and though it he's only 10 cm tall he's very healthy (its name is bob and you shall adress him as Bob or die). The other one i got quite recently and seems to be going a brown colour and i think he is dying (its name is Pig). What should i do?

You do feed 'em once a week or month or something, right?

Place it on an, only slightly, warm radiator for a few hours. Put a peice of cloth in between. Next time give it less water, and be carefull not to pour water on the plant itself. Pour very little along the side of whatever fancy container it sits in.
Did you know Pig means Thorn in Danish?

Rename Pig and maybe he'll do better soon. I'd hate to be called Pig. Call him Oink or something. Or Oinky. Bob'n'Oinky. Maybe ask Bob about it. ;)

I agree... Pig must just be unhappy about his name. That's what it's all about. Happened in lord of the flies and now look at history repeating itself...

I hate to be the one to tell you: Bob is killing Pig. Pig rejected Bob's advances and, as you make clear, Bob is violent. :D

(Actually, sorry to hear this. Hopefully, others can be helpful.)

German Nightmare sounds like a worse off name to me...

So feed it more and dont get water on the plant but wet those roots.

Wow...I didn't know there was so much out there about cacti... I have one from Wal*Mart that I bought a couple of years ago (because I thought it would be cool to have a hot pink cactus), and I have never done anything to it. Sorry about what happened to Pig...'tis a big disappointment when plants go downhill with no apparent explanation.

I think you must be urinating on your catus. That the usual cause of these sorts of problems. But don't worry, it's easilly fixed. Just keep decreasing the distance between you and the catus when you urinate on it and pretty soon you'll be cured of your habit.

Problem is... it only happens when he's blackout drunk.

I once killed a cactus. I don't know how it died. It shrunk up and collapsed. I did what the tag said to do though, I watered it once a month. :(

Plants hate me. My violets may or may not be dead now, I can't tell, some of the leaves look ok but it isn't absorbing water.

Actually, 'thorn' is 'torn' in danish.

'Pig' is as catch-all term for something slender and pointy, like a spike, spine, quill, barb, thorn, prickle etc. It is also almost exclusively used to describe said things in the plural (which would be 'pigge')

To OP: I really cannot help you with cacti advice, sorry
