I don't like this either. If the aid got handed out more responsibly yes, but as it is, it's money down the drain.

If there were some way to make sure the aid did not line the pockets of corrupt politicians I could support more aid. However, I don't have a lot of confidence that can be done. Africa is one of the richest continents in terms of natural resources but corruption has prevented those resources from being used in a way to help the impoverished people. Money from diamonds going to fund civil wars, government policies in Zimbabwe devastating their agriculture...no, no increases in aid at this time thank you. :(
