Whoo-hoo! A buncha other people have had advice threads, but I never got around to forming my own. So, come here for spiritual, political, moral guidance and prepare to be amazed... ;)

Try not to criticize anyone's post in this thread without some indication of humor/respect, no matter how biggoted/idiotic you think it may be.

I've got some exams coming up, are there any particularly revision methods which you would recommend?

If a friend very firmly asks you to remember that you were with them at a certain date, time and place, even though you are not certain, should you be worried?

What should I have for dinner (keeping in mind that I am poor)?

Hmm... I've heard of this thing you call "exams". I have never had to take them. So, I have no clue what you're talking about! Here are my general test-taking tips though, because I'm a total nerd and I have those:
(1) If you're the kind that frequently changes their own mind when going back to check their work, don't bother. Studies show that the first answer is usually right.
(2) Don't wear a large coat/jacket. The sleeves are annoying and get in the way of writing.
(3) Don't try to go to go to bed early; your body won't be used to it and you'll find yourself going to sleep even later than usual.

No. You should be worried if you remember that plus the color of everything both of you were wearing and what your exact thoughts were at the time.

My advice for exams is not to study at all - waste of time. I found that creating multiple 'posters' for key concepts, and then putting them on the walls where you sleep/live is a much easier way to learn - the first thing you see in the morning and the last thing at night will be these posters which your brain will unconciously assimilate. Worked for me in my final year at uni.

How poor are you? If you have some money, chicken noodle soup might be a good one. If you have none, you might want to eat lemon grass. (Thought of a random plant native to my area, sorry if you don't have it.)

By the way, do you know if there's an easy way to browse through the list of nations in NS? I'm looking for music regions and it's getting frustrating because I can't just skip straight to the 'm's.

My advice to people is not to rely too heavily on advice. Or at least, only rely on it as an intermediate stage on the way to self-reliance.

oh yeah, go into the exam saying that if u fail this year then there's always next, that takes all the pressure out of it

Use google to search for a word or partial word within NS. Start with this in the search box:

music site:nationstates.net

You must include the "site:nationstates.net" to search NS only.

Interesting approach...I'll probably try that out, once I've finished condensing my geography work into notes.

Thanks. That saves trawling through 500+ pages of regions.
