Best value gig you've been to?

Everyone has a best gig (for me it's Rammstein a few months back), but what about the best value gig you've been to (enjoyment/cost of ticket). Mine's 65daysofstatic in Leicester on Monday...cost £7, and was a fucking brilliant night. They are *so* good live, anyone ever gets the chance to go see them, then go, however much it costs.

Having been to a hell of a lot of free gigs over the years I find myself unable to properly answer this question due to the neccessity of dividing by zero.

i saw Lost Prophets for free. they were shit, as i expected, but it was free so you cant really argue with that

and i saw Biffy Clyro for free as well, only because someone bought me a ticket for my birthday. they are rather better than good live.

Um, well, I got given a backstage pass to Mudvayne for nothing...and that's in a week.

I don't know their music, though. :p

Heh, if you want vocals from them, check out their Unreleased/Unreleasable Vol. II. Ok, so it's not their vocals, but it's still good. Buy their album HERE (http://www.monotremerecords.com/cat.html)
I've been to a fair few free gigs as well (V Festival last year for example), but 65 still ranks above anything else.

Spearhead.

$40 something but they played 3 hours STRAIGHT, did extened and different versions of all their songs, inluding an insanely cool spoken word version and some really cool instrumental stuff. The lead guy, Michael Franti, who's a 6 1/2 foot dude ran through the ENTIRE crowd from back to front and back to the stage again. It was just so awesome and everyone was just loving it. If you ever get a chance to see them, do it!

Millencollin, Streetdogs & Lawrence Arms for free, because a friend who's a music journalist took me along.
And Rheinkultur, an annual big (100k visitors) festival that is completely cost-free, which has a mixed line-up of local and international bands. Saw Project Pitchfork, Bloodhound Gang, A, The King and various others there. This year ...trail of dead and Floggin Molly will be there.

for me it has to be Coldcut live on stage at the 2004 Big Chill festival. Fantastic all-round act. The festival itself was just one amazing gig too.
