because I've always felt the need to mix religion and politics.....

the Catholic party would for follow the edicts of the Church whenever possible (i.e. abortion) and its party members would vote to decide how we stand on affairs the Church has never taken a stance on (i.e. gun ownership)

not quite, the Church and government would still be quite seperate, we'd just make sure laws don't work against the will of God

kinda how like W brings religious views into the government yet dosn't bring religion into the government

chocolate is yummy pretty muich hit the nail on the head; one of the biggest roles of the Church is to interpret the Bible, more often than not those passages were never ment to be taken literaly. and as for evolution it fits perfactly with Catholic teaching, we believe that the story of the garden of eden was really about the Jews infidelity to God adopting pagan palestinian snake worshiping religions (the snake) and being sent to captivity in babylon as punishment (sent out of the garden)

Yah. It's funny how the last pope thrust them from the 16th century to the 19th century. He was an awesome guy.

Interesting! I've never heard that. It's good that people realize that God can speak in metaphor. By the way, does my signature offend you? [/genuine]

"For hot Catholic school girl action, come to the Atheist Empire!!"

I personally don't think (all) of the Bible was to be taken literally, (some of it though).
