Cool we had an election were no one hada chance to make any of their views known or to talk about what they would actually do as a MP and where anyone could vote as long as they claimed they voted PoWW. I really don't see why we needed an election and if we did we rushed into it like that... :rolleyes:

Congrats on winning three seats. I'm sure that Bitchkitten, Marmite Toast, and Eutrusca will all do marvelously.

Hey there were a few things on the platform that I wasn't 100% behind, but I thought the whole point of this party was to get a group of people together who had somewhat varied views and then let them decide what policies made sense. Well If you're a fan of toeing the ideological line the RTP could always use another member.

If we were going to have an election all the nominees should have been given an opportunity to talk to the voters about their personal ideologies. It basically came down to name recognition instead of what each candidate had done/could do for the party. Yay for bannana republic politics. :)

Actually, as best I can understand, most of the other parties didn't even bother to hold elections for their Parliamentary seats; the party founder simply appointed them. ( I'm sure I'll be corrected if I'm wrong about this! )

The election was rushed quite a bit because so many of those in the other parties were indicating that they wanted to hold a "session" of Parliament in the very near future .. the dates I saw bandied about were this Friday and this coming Monday.

No one could vote without first registering with us as a member of POWW, which is pretty much the way it works in real life ... when elections within a party are even held. I really saw no other way to do it, since the General elections were by "secret" ballot.

If you have suggestions as to how we could have done better, I'll be happy to hear them. Since they're talking about holding General elections once every four months ( as a minimum ), we should definitely menchanize the process as much as possible.

If I didn't handle this issue of elections for our seats in Parliament properly, please make your wishes known as soon as possible for the next election. If you're highly irritated about the whole thing, you can always campaign to have someone else elected as Party Chairman. Just let me know and we'll have another election. Fair?? :)

Anyway founder handing out the seats isn't all that bad. It's a good deal fairer then a (barely) trumped up popularity contest.

I'm truly sorry you feel that way. Why don't I give you the entire list of all who were eligible to vote and you can poll them yourself to see if there's any interest in holding another election within the Party after the first session of Parliament?

It's not a big deal, I never saw the PoWW as much more then the lesser of the evils in the election. I was mainly in it to stop the Reds, although after we got that third seat I started to hope a little.

Oh well 3-4 months isn't too long to wait. Hopefully by that time there will be a party worth getting behind...
