I hate to sound like a wimpy hobbit, but that place is too uncomfortable for my tastes. I'd take over bag end and never leave the property. For good measure I'd mount a few .50 calibers outside my house and hope no wizards happened to walk by.

I'm sure there's a library or two with a few, oh... thousand books to which I can occupy my time with. Well...so long as I learn Sindarin or Quenya (and memorize Tengwar) anyway.
Yup. Grey Havens for me. And it's gonna be renamed Grey Sixia just for the hell of it.

Am I screwy or isnt it properly Spelled Minas Tirith?
and pronounced Mee-Nahs Teer-i-th in the tongue of Numenor, many of the towns and cities of Middle earth were of course built by the Numenoreans, who traveled to Middle Earth from Belariand, before it sank into the sea, that is. RivenDell would be a nice place to live, no doubt about that, Minas Morgul could be fun, if you're the high mighty one. Lothlorien would be super cool, and it translates from Quenya as "Blessed Realm". And the cloak of the Galadhrim would be nice to have, Lothlorien. Take your Moria and shove it, Minas Tirith is a large white dildo stuck in the ass of Mordor. The Mirkwood is a scary place, and its basically taken over by the Orcs. I guess the only truly bad thing about Lothlorien is that according to Tolkien the elves, Noldor,Quenya,Sindar, or whatever only F*$K once in their lives so putting the sign on the tree saying, If this tree is rockin dont come knockin and having wild orgies with Galadriel and Celeborn, and a few other elves is out of the question.

Or rather, only one person. It's called monogamy. They also tend to lose interest in it after they've had a few children, and see it as more of an art form than anything else. Oh, and 'Quenya' is a language, not a race - perhaps you were thinking of the Vanyar? Or the Teleri? Or the Nandor, or the Avari, or...
As to the original question, I'd share my time equally between Tirion-upon-Túna and dear old Alqualondë. However, if you're wanting to stay in Endor (= Middle-earth), I'd say Nargothrond. If you're going to be even more picky and insist on the Third Age of the Sun, then I'd have to go for Lothlórien or Mithlond (... the Grey Havens. Do I have to translate everything?)

you are indeed right, I stand corrected and as an act of contrition I will now insert this carnivorous ear wig into my brain.
also, the translation stated for Lothlorien in the index of the Silmarillion is Lorien of the blossom, however the name refers back to the land of Valinor, and the vala known as Irmo sometimes called Lorien (index, page 338 of the 2001 Houghton Mifflin edition of the Silmarillion). Given that it refers back to Valinor it is acceptable to translate the name as blessed realm, in my opinion, more correct than that would be to say flower of the blessed realm or of the blessed realm.

Well, no, it actually refers back to a specific part of Valinor, the Gardens of Lorien. The stem of 'Lorien' is the same as the one in 'Olorin', and is a form of 'dream'. (Offhand, I think the Primitive Elvish stem is '(O)LOR', but I've not checked that). Hence the other translation of Lothlorien, 'Dreamflower'.
If it was called Lothaman or Lothevalinor, you'd have a point, but it isn't.
EDIT: I take it back, the stem is 'LOS-', 'sleep'.
Q. olor dream, cf. Lorien = N Lhuien. Q lore slumber, lorna asleep. (...) [See OLOS]

I would want to live somewhere east of the map. West and South are pretty much covered, and north gets too cold, but East really is an unknown. I'd like to live further and further east. Who knows what I'd find?
If I remember correctly, you'd probably find relatives of the Wainriders, primarily short, stocky, and dark people. You might also find two old dudes in blue questioning you about how to get back to the Grey Havens.
As for me, I'm not sure if, properly speaking, I would live anywhere. I'd probably be more of a nomad than anything else, although I would make it a point to make Rivendell my base of operations. Why the nomadic life? Well, for one thing, I'd love to see what Khand and Rhun are like, as well as long-lost places like Fornost Edain in the North, Far Harad in the south, and Fangorn and Lothlorien smack dab in the middle. For another, its the only way to get everything I want. For example, the Shire and Bree have great hospitality, great beer, and top-notch pipeweed, but I'm not into fat midgets when it comes to women, and their music is good only if you like music of the Wierd Al variety. Lorien has great trees, great music, and some great-looking elven lasses, but not so much quality beer, and nary a beast to slay. Rivendell kinds of splits the difference, allowing me in the span of a year to get from the taverns of Buckland to the bordellos of Umbar and back again.
I'd travel too cause i couldn't seriously decide where to live without travelling everywhere first...
Although i already said probably Lothlorien
or Rivendell
or the Shire :p

Osgiliath. The city's to be rebuilt after the war, and the going prices on housing there are sure to be cheap. That and I'd be terribly afraid I might play around with the trebuchets in Minas Tirith and cause an accident :D

Welcome to NS

As a word of advice, if you're posting on threads like these then your language is fine but if you post on more serious threads then you may want to write things out properly... people take your opinions more seriously ;)
I learnt from harsh experience...
thanks for the advice...just out of curiosity, what was the experience? or don't i wanna know??

While not from LotR, I would like to live in Beorn's cabin. It seemed cozy, yet also very wild. Plus, I'm a big fan of honey. If we're limiting discussion to Lord of the Rings, though, I guess I would have to say Hobbiton. I'm such a sucker for comfort :p
Must...resist....temptation....
Damn it, I can't hold it in any longer.
LOTR nuts should go here ----> www.lotrplaza.com
Thank me later.

Speaking of language, can anyone else on here write in Tengwar? I love it :)
I can... but you should probably have guessed that.
The most fun is writing Quenya in Tengwar... although remembering whether to use sule or silme can be quite a task.

Misty Mountains = ownage.... imagine what would it be like to live in that charming place, you would exercise yourself everyday by climbing that place, and as the name says it it would be difficult to find your house or hut for it is always misty....

You would find evil black men under the sway of the shadow. Interestingly, the East is where the first men awoke at the beginning of the first age, and where the first Elves awoke about 14,000 years before that.
I've already posted in this thread, but I've changed my mind since then. I think I'd like to live in Harad, or maybe east of Mordor.
So you're evil too?
