Non! I can't reply in french, but I did understand. w00t. Anyways, to say a specific genre of music is the best is entirely biased. One's view of music is subjective/relative, and one cannot say, definitively, what is the "best" type of music. I, for instance, love classical/chamber, rock, alternative, metal, and the occassional pop song, but loathe country and rap, as well as certain musical periods. Aesthtics is a sense that isn't just visual, but aural, and is different for everyone. So I've never really gotten why people try to insist one genre of music is truly "superior" to another.

So do I:

Mu·zak ( P ) Pronunciation Key (myzk)

A trademark used for recorded background music transmitted by wire or radio, as to places of business, on a subscription basis.

I'll try to stop now :p

But seriously, I cannot give much credence to a threat that espouses one genre of music is better that another.

I hit the nail on the head. :)

Rock is little more then a buzz word used to describe a vast array of genres of music. What kind of rock is it that you think is best?

As much as I love rock, I have to say that the blues and jazz are better. The musicians that play that kind of music are the coolest dudes on the planet, without exception.

Frankly, I don't view rap as "music", at all. To each their own, I say, but I would just as soon not have to listen to it.

I guess I'm a bit more partial to BB King and Eric Clapton then I am to Henry Mancini, if you want me to pick just from the three. Mancini wasn't bad by any means, though. The Pink Panther's theme song has always been one of my personal favorite songs.

Yeah, I play guitar, so I like to play clapton, BUT I also play Trumpet, bass guitar, and tenor sax and like to play anything from Gershwin to mancini, that type of stuff. So I can see where you are coming from.

Yeah, the trumpet mafia is going to get him. I'll never forget what those guys did to that poor clarinet player. I will say that we could never make a fellatio joke again without our tracheas quivering in fear.

Anyway, you play a pretty wide variety of instruments. Are you pretty good at all of them, or do you just mess around with some of them?

I sort of play two instruments. I played percussion in band, so I got pretty good at drums. I haven't played a set in a few years though. I just picked up a bass guitar and started learning how to play recently at the urging of a friend.

Trumpet I played for a few years in band, and occasionally I play. Bass and guitar I play usually an hoour each a day and I haven't seen a sax in over a year.

For some reason that made me think of A Great Day in Harlem (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0109934/) (for those of you who have never heard of it). That, and that Thelonious Monk guy. He walks up to a crowd of the coolest men on the planet, and when they see him all they can talk about is how cool he is. Now that's cool.

Wu-Tang Clan have more talent then alot of rock groups, RZA's production by itself is interesting as electronic music, and the vocals can be quite inspired, in other words, they kick ass. :p

I don't see why people dismiss some types of music entirely, there's talent in just about everything, except MTV oriented (fake) emo, which universally sucks.
