While we're on the topic of friends...would you sleep with yours?

This came up in another thread:

Do you usually/only/sometimes/never make friends with people you want to have sex with, and is this merely incidental, or a criteria?

Sometimes, but always incidentally. I sometimes get attracted to new friends, especially if they are attractive women, but I always manage to purge those thoughts from my mind until eventually, they are just friends.

Sex with a friend was usually incidental. Building a friendship takes far to long when you are only looking for sex.

My wife hated me and then became a friend. ;)

If I feel like I want to and if she does then hell yeah

I fucked up the poll, so forget that.

Anyway, here are the options I was thinking of, you can say which one you'd shoose:

1)I'm male, and I only/mostly make friends with people I want to sleep with.
2)I'm male, and I don't want to sleep with most/any of my friends.
3)I'm male, and I'd sleep with some of my friends, but that's incidental
4)I'm female, and I only/mostly make friends with people I want to sleep with.
5)I'm female, and I don't want to sleep with most/any of my friends.
6)I'm female, and I'd sleep with some of my friends, but that's incidental.
&) I want Myrth to be my friend
8) Other.

EDIT: Since Neo is super-awesome, go vote.

I am almost always attracted on some level to my friends, male or female. i have to admire them for some reason. they all have something precious and special in my view.

That being said, i will not sleep with them. That is reserved for a select few.

Not recently. Though in my circles of friends there are 2 girls I'd gladly go there with if they're ever so inclined and situation arises. I'm not going ouyt of my way to get there though, friendship is quite fine. They just make me really horny too, thats all. Back when I was an E popping fool about 8 years ago, it used to happen all the time however. Blame the ecstasy, it encourages things that shouldn't really be encouraged. Usually it was all good, but there were some really unfortunate expereinces, like one of us thinking something wonderful had begun, while the other thought it was just another bit of fun. Not a nice situation to be in with a friend.

You can still add a poll. Try this link (http://www.forums.jolt.co.uk/poll.php?do=newpoll&t=424572).
If that doesn't work, go up to the Thread Tools menu.

I discovered quite some time ago that the very best way to begin any relationship, whether it includes sex or not, is to become friends. So, since almost all of the women I know are my friends, the answer is "yes," I would ( and have ) had sex with some of my friends. Sometimes the sex ends, but the friendship has ended with only a very few.

If you start out trying to make friends with someone just so you can have sex with them, I would consider that dishonest. :(

Option three!

My friends are female (and I am male), and I find some of them to be attractive. However, I'd only sleep with one (who happens to be my ex-girlfriend).

Sometimes, but always incidentally. I sometimes get attracted to new friends, especially if they are attractive women, but I always manage to purge those thoughts from my mind until eventually, they are just friends.Same here, except the other way around. Sometimes the "purging" never happens though....awww well. Frankly though, my friends have (in my limited experience) been much more important to me than any other relationships of a 'romantic' nature, so its probably a good idea not to go there.

Like The Chocolate Godess, I find most of my friends attractive in many ways.

I voted number one...but it only applies to girls.

I have some friends who are girls, and they are freakin' hot as hell. It's an uphill battle trying not to screw up our friendship by saying things like "You make me horny."

No.
1. I'm only a high school junior; I wouldn't want to sleep with/have sex with anybody for some years.
2. The majority of my friends are male, anyway. (And I'm straight.)
3. Of the few friends of mine who are of the female persuasion, one is lesbian and two have boyfriends - sleeping with them would be a very uncomfortable situation for me (not to mention for them). As for the other two, their friendships with me are somewhat distant, and I feel virtually no sexual attraction towards them.

However, I wouldn't rule out sleeping with friends in college and beyond...

option 8

maybe my own definition of "friend" is very exclusive...I have several friends...some all the back from my first school years...

none of them is a girl...
Its just the way it is...and I have too many friends anyway...

I'm the final option, other....I'm male and have slept with my very best friend, and we are dating, and have been for over a year and a half - in fact we're moving in together in September....But she's the only one i would ever sleep with. Sorry to disappoint

I have a reasonable number of friends, and they are... *pauses to consider as he's never really thought about it* ... about 50/50 split between male and female, and a range of attractive to not quite so attractive for both genders.

At the specific moment i have a girlfriend and intend to remain faithful to her so obviously she's the only one of my friends i would sleep with. :)

I am against making friends making friends purely because i want to sleep with them, i'd rather be friends with people i actually like as people, not just whether i'd sleep with them or not.

As for the friends i've got, certain friends (if i didn't have a girlfriend of course) i would potentially sleep with, but only one, maybe two, as it's not a decisions i'd make lightly.

I'd be very careful though, that kind of thing could ruin a friendship. However, everyone will be going of to uni soonish anyway, so i won't see a lot of them again anyway, not regularly anyway, so meh, i suppose i could anyway. :p
