I'm now bored with blue hair but i don't know what colour i should go next, so i thought i'd ask you lot, any suggestions?

Dark red then. Of course, that kind of depends on which shade of blue your eyes are, but I know someone who has dark red hair and blue eyes and it works very well for her.

Dying hair is cool and all, but I donno. I guess it just seems young to me, a stunt to pull attention to yourself. And sure, I'll probably dye my hair one of these days just for the hell of it, but whatever. I would go natural. Trying to shock people is over rated.

This may not work, but you could try it:

1. Get a perm (you said you wanted to freak people out...!)

2. Dye each curl a different colour, or maybe have a pattern.
I think red, white and blue could be cool, seeing as you live in Blackpool. Or maybe neon, to match the lights?

I had multi-colored braided extensions in a pony tail down to my waist. It really looked cool. That's an option. I also loved having fuschia hair! (Go with Manic Panic... it will stay in for SURE!) ;)

There's got to be a company out there somewhere making either prismatic or thermochromatic selection of dyes for hair. That could look pretty different.

1. people will judge you no matter what. by calling attention to yourself by trying to be outrageous, people are just given more opportunity to and will only stereotype you more.

2. saying that dying your hair crazy colours makes it so that your "personality shines through" is bullschit. super-changing physical appearances only make it so that your appearance stands out more, and people will box you that way, then.

3. it's a vicious circle. trying to escape it doesn't work. you can't make your physical self disppear, and if you really wanted it do, you'd leave it the most blend-in thing in the world. even then, people would box you. just be yourself. don't modify yourself just so that people will stereotype you differently.

4. if you want your personality to shine through, then your personality will shine through regardless of how you look.

5. you say your town is crazy. insane. okay, well, by trying to stand out, aren't you just standing in? jumping on the "i'm so freaky!" bandwagon? if your town is really as weird as you describe (and nothing shocks me, my city is (in)famous for its weirdness), then the real shocker would to be a badass person and au naturale.

i mean, i don't care if you dye your hair or get spinal piercings or a bone stuck through your head as jewelry, but if these are your motives.. well, there's an easier way that may be better.

and the people who are actually cool to you won't give a f*ck which color wavelengths your hair strands happen to reflect.

I've been thinking about that since Tink made me think it up. It'd be a pain in the ass, you'd need to bleach the hair platinum blond(e) first, then add the bassal dye, then the color shifting dye (clear to blue grey?) All I can figure is the hair might pick up a less pleasent texture, but from what little I know of these matters, it seems like it should be possible. Run your hand through your hair, instant streak. It would be pretty badass. But prismatic might be badder still.

Do you know any product names or manufactures? I suppose tuning the temperatures would be hard. Might work better in winter, especially in Seattle where there isn't a whole lot of direct sunlight.
