Been there, heard that. You should go to: http://www.talkbackwards.com/ and upload some files. I found speech reversals in some of my computer's sound bites.

Yep. Heard em. They're pretty freaky. I doubt, though, that there's some sort of intentional hiden message.

It took a few listens but I heard a message......" No matter how thin you slice it, it's still baloney."

Or if there is, that it does anything at all.

So... did you steal that from a 15 year old Bloom County comic strip? :D

I think the "Stairway to Heaven" reversal was intentional. Jimmy Page was an enthusiast in books about the dark arts. Furthermore, he was about 6-7 years older than Robert Plant and Plant idolized Page because Page had already been an accomplished rocker in Britain. I think Page convinced Plant to sing the words in such a way as to get the desired outcome. But, it's just a theory.

What I find unbelievable, is that there are classes teaching Reverse Speech recognition. What for? What is the point? Teach the kids some history instead.

RS is in my opinion, bullshit. We have a limited amount of phonemes to make up our thousands and thousands of words. It is no wonder that certain combinations, when played backwards, make up 'words'. I give no more credit to this, than I do to bible code.

Apart from that, it is fun to hear what random messages can be produced.

History is a more valid subject than reverse speech? *Shakes head in disbelief.*

Yes, as a matter of fact I think it is. As is geography, math, economics, social studies, psychology, languages. Reverse Speech is not a subject in itself, it is only a tool. Therefore I do not believe that it should be taught only as a part of higher education in conjunction with the dicipline it supports. No to forestall those who will argue that 'mathematics is only a tool as well' let me just say that the two are not comparable, as math is a tool for other subjects taught in basic education. Furthermore, you need math to be able to decipher much of the information in society - This does not hold true with RS.

bible code?

Bible codes, also known as Torah codes, are words, phrases and clusters of words and phrases that some people believe are meaningful and exist intentionally in coded form in the text of the Bible. These codes were made famous by the book The Bible Code, which claims that these codes can predict the future. All of these claims are strongly denied by skeptics and many religious groups.

I don't think RS is intentional in most songs, but it is pretty interesting.

I do not believe that history would be a more useful subject to learn than reverse speech-I do, in fact, believe they are equally useless.

Bull.

Shit.

You have to listen closely and have the supposed lyrics in front of you to hear anything. It's just conspiracy theory. With millions of songs, some of them are going to have coincidences when played backwards.
