The Localize Liberty Party Thread

Ah yes, another party. Without further ado, I bring to you...

The Localize Liberty Party Manifesto

I realise that strictly speaking the manifesto is a little irrelevant due to the election only having taken place about a day ago, but I want the voters to see what they missed (due entirely to the slow-wittedness of me in not forming the party earlier).

Manifesto:

The Localize Liberty party has the main aim of reducing the size of central government as much as possible. It plans to do this by placing as much power as possible in the hands of local communities to decide how to run their own lives.

To enable this, power will be placed in the hands of districts in the countryside, and townships in the urban areas. Within broad guidelines these local bodies will be free to run their own affairs, and have their own elections.

The central government's main functions will thus be to:

To ensure that the local governing bodies respect citizen's inalienable rights to privacy, such as the freedom to do as they please in their own home.

To ensure that all such local governing bodies are run in a democratic and accountable fashion.

To co-ordinate national relationships between the districts.

To co-ordinate the raising of a national armed forces to protect the country in times of war.

ADD SUGGESTIONS PLEASE!

---------------------

I see the central government as being more of a housekeeping force than a government as we know the term presently. I would like to know if anyone believes the government should force the districts to provide such basic welfare as free education to its citizens. I'm toying with the idea of nearly everything being privately-run.

Anyway, who's up for joining? :p
