That's right. On Saturday I went to Niagara Falls, Ont., with a friend and we went on the little Maid of the Mist boat. Although they're supposed to stay on their half of the river, as we were approaching the falls I noticed that we were definitely closer to the US side than the Canadian, so we were in the US illegally. And we exited illegally too.

I would be a wetback if they hadn't given us those plastic poncho things. And if anyone has a problem with that, feel free to air your disgust, see if I care. :P

Technically, if you had a birth certificate or photo ID issued by a governmental body, you were still legal.

I have no problems with anyone crossing the border to try to make a better life for themselves or just for the S & G factor for that matter. My beef is with the people that hire them in this country. They exploit those workers often paying them far below minimum wage & pay them off the books. I think anyone caught employing Illegals should do some serious jail time. Tax evasion for one thing & basic violation of human rights as well. Make the punishments harsher & you will see less illegal immigration in this country. Of course since a lot of congressmen & senators employ illegals to do housekeeping & garden work for them you can bet how fast a bill like that would die in either house.

You didn't technically enter the US. Sorry. The Canado-US border is not dead center between the Canadian Falls and the US Falls. Unless you went under the US falls, you cannot claim to have entered the US.

I even typed LOL before it to let people know it was a joke. I posted it with the aim of making people laugh at stereotypical American sentiment. Sinuhue seemed to be able to tell that I wasn't serious. Am I reading the definition of trolling wrong, or what?

Niagara Falls is a really, really cruddy town. It's got to be one of the crappist in Ontario. It sucks that it the only impression of Canada for a bunch of tourists is that place.

Its a good idea to make that clear on each post you make thats really bad. Some people are very sensitive. others may come in late and not get the tone of the thread, think you're serious and make a harsh remark in response.

Two things:
first, the mods haven't got the time to check if you are joking, or posting in a joking way as to avoid their wrath while still angering. Even if your post was sarcasm, there's no way to know for sure. And since the system has been abused before, the mods have a rather strict policy.

Second, if you feel the warning is not waranted, you can always appeal the decision in the moderation forum. Chances are you won't get an answer to your questions in this thread.
