Inviting all Chicagoland Crazy Gun-nutter Yanks! :sniper:

I know that the 4th of July weekend can be sort of hectic, but – Plan ahead!

This is my first Public Invite to come and use up some of my Lead and Powder at the Michigan City (IN) Rifle Club Muzzle-Loader summer Novelty Shoot, 9am-Whenever, Sunday, July 3.

I’ve got a .50 Rifle, a .50 Pistol, a .45 Rifle and a .45 Cap & Ball pistol (plus appropriate Lead & powder) that you can do your best to out-shoot me with. (Bring your own if you’ve got something.)

We will have all kinds of strange frangible/reactive targets, attempts to cut playing cards edgewise with round-ball, etc.

Some of the “traditionalists” will even be in full Period Garb with their Flintlocks and kit.

My treat to shooting fees, .45/.50 bullets, powder & caps.

(If you camp, I can arrange for you to camp at the club with me Fri night…)

More info on the Fireworks over Lake Michigan when I get it. (Might be Sunday Night… dunno yet)

OH - BTW... in all other respects this thread is "open"... though if we could keep it to being about things that go "BOOM" it would be cool... :D

I was shooting my BP stuff this weekend and tried a rifle load in my pistol... 75gr of 777 FFF pushing a 240gr saboted pistol bullet. :sniper: Interesting, but I like my 50gr/360gr minie ball load better.

My Mossberg .50 bbl likes the 75gr/320 REAL, though 100gr 2F Pioneer has a nicer kick....

Thanks for the invite, Syniks, but I'm going to have to decline. My hippie family has a 4th of July tradition. We get together, eat meat, play blues, drink, and when everyone is about a half dozen clicks past sober, we break out the fireworks. 23 years without a serious injury, thake that fate! WOOT!!

Wouldn't mind being there at all, but can't make it as I'll be several thousand miles away. I will have a beer and blow something up thinking of you at my own local event (the 4th annual "eat meat, drink beer, blow sh** up!" in Nagai park, Osaka) if you do the same (and ditto for you Glorious Discordia). :D
