Please insert (SOME) before your rants/commentaries...

Instead of the constant "Liberals/Conservatives/Gays/Straights/Christians/Muslims/etc" "do/believe/think/are" threads, can we all agree to just insert "some", please? That way you are making it clear that you don't really think you can so easily classify an entire group as though they were one, homogenous collection of people controlled by some all-powerful overmind? Please?

Example:

Some Natives are nitpicky about these things. :p

Some threads don't get the attention they deserve :p

See...doesn't that make more sense than "Threads don't get the attention they deserve"? Come on people, we have language for a reason...to communicate our thoughts. So unless you intend to paint every *insert category* with the same brush, DON'T. If you DO...be prepared for the backlash, and don't go, "Oh, but I didn't MEAN everyone...really..." :D

People aren't posting in this thread enough.

Oops!!!

Well, it's true.

Adding "some" makes a post sound somewhat reasonable and thought-out, which defeats the purpose of a rant.

Yes, but SOME people who start these threads without using "SOME" don't actually think they are ranting...SOME of them believe they are making a valid observation about an entire group of people based on the actions of a few members of that group.

That's reasonable. I'll give it some thought. :D
