You can not know that you don't know, but you probably can't only not know the stuff you knew that you didn't know, since there's more things that you don't know you don't know.

It's possible not to know that you don't know something, but it's impossible to do an objective test of that. So you can't know for sure if you don't know that you don't know-My head feels funny.

Of course you can't know you don't know something. That's the unexpected. When you know you don't know something you can prepare. Consider:
Your friend has threatened you, in response to a prank of magnificent hilarity, to surprise you in like manner soon. You know something's coming, but you don't know what.
Alternatively, you're just walking along one day (in a world where no such prank has happened, so there is no real reason for this) when suddenly your friend leaps out of the bushes and sprays you with silly string.
The first is an instance of knowing that you didn't know something; the second an instance of not knowing that you didn't know something - what was about to happen to you.
