After defeats in both Holland and France, does the EU Constitution have a chance anymore? I think this is a major setback for Europe, they hoped to be on par with China and United States, and the only way to do that is to be United.

There will be some more negotiation and they will put it to us again in a few years.

Yes, they will finally agree on a constitution, far in the future, when the US and China are third world countries. The day that happens, an aspiring scientist will mess with quarks and......BOOM!

Oh man! So all the treaties 'we' agreed upon during 60 years are crap now?!? So there is no Euro-zone? No European union at all? This "constitutional treaty" wasn't supposed to bind those numerous treaties together? Are those all of a sudden void?!? EU is no more!?!?!?!?!?ONE!!!SHIFT!!

.... maybe .... in your dreams

When the EU started, it was simply that- a union, a large trading bloc. Now, its turned (somehow) into a power-hungry morass of red tape and unelected burocrats telling other governments how to run their countries.

I hope that the MEP's realise that the majority of europeans (the only ones that matter) DO NOT want a federal state.

If i woke up one morning and saw an inauguration of the United States of Europe, id move to america. They've managed to make it work. On our side of the pond, we have power hungry germans and french.

2 countries now have voted no. Out of the 10'ish that didnt even have a referendum actually DID have a vote, i wonder how many no's we'd have at the moment......

Haha im from UK (so it explains everything!)

Sorry about the rant, its just here in the UK, it seems we only ever get complaints from EU countries about us, yet they also demand us to pay the most out of any country, despite being nearly the smallest (oops, im off again  )

People rejected the constitution for their own reasons. If these are resolved and everyone is happy, theres no logical reason why it shouldnt go ahead again. It would be the death of democracy if they either just demand a recount or pass it anyway.
