Trolls. Not just one, but hundreds, or maybe thousands. Of cource, these trolls must be kept securely, or they may begin roaming around, flaming eachother to death and otherwise generally making NS a bit crispier.

They could also the used for intresting experiments in which Cogitation tries to achieve cogitation in their brains, only to have them pass through a Micro$oft certified nuked railroad a few milliseconds later, thereby squashing them to death and stimulating the growth of radioactive cheese in the General forum.

Large quantities of this magnificent radioactive cheese can then be used to power NS. The resulting exceptionally cheesy waste may then be used to feed more trolls...

General isnt responsible enough to have its own pet. The pet should go to NS :P

If NS General got a pet, it would die while people argued about:
1. If it had a soul
2. Its sexual orientation
3. If it was 'liberal' or 'conservative'

5. If it could count
6. How to properly dispose of its waste
7. Its diet
8. If it was sentient
9. Animal rights
10. Whether or not it should be able to get an abortion

At the risk of coming over all Gussie Finknottle/Ken Livingstone, how about a load of newts? If we dig a pond in the top right hand corner of the screen where the adverts appear we will not only have a self-sustaining ecosystem, but will also shield ourselves from the evil forces of international capitalism.
