What do you think of them?
Im all for it, especially dogs, they should definitely have underpants.
I'm thinking of knitting a sweater for my pet snake cuddles to keep him warm over winter, Ive decided on a one metre long tube as the design and blue yellow and red bands as the colours, pick the wool up tomorrow.

I think, ultimately, it depends on what the animal is comfortable with. If your cat hates that windbreaker, he doesn't have to wear it. If your dog happens to be Wishbone, he should have a bigger wardrobe than you do. Let the animals choose.

Yes sometimes. If someone is stupid enough to buy a chihihuahua in a country where the winter lasts 9 months, the poor dog is really going to need some clothing. Also e.g. race horses need clothing.
Buying clothes for pets just because they look so cute is something I oppose quite strongly.

Many say that they are animal lovers but then treat their pets as they are humans and not animals. They feed cakes, spicy food, whatever they're having to their pets and wonder why Fifi is always so sick. I can't understand how a person who lives in e.g. Barcelona city centre and keeps a husky as a pet can say that she's an animal lover. Or a person who has 4 great danes in a small apartment and take them out for 30min/day. etc etc

Clothes should not wear animals. This is a horrible abuse of their rights.

The title of this thread is "clothes wearing animals", which I assumed to mean that clothes are wearing animals. This is abusive to both clothes and animals.

I do agree with that. Clothes have rights too! We should start PETC.

If we are talking necessity (for instance, making an Italian greyhound live in a snowy clime, and therefore putting on a dog sweater when walking it, or putting rubber boots on a dog whose paws are sore from ice/salt), fine. But dressing up an animal in the name of fashion is, I think, disrespectful to the animal.
Really.... what poodle NEEDS to wear nail polish? If one must play dress-up, get a doll.

I'm sorry to break this to you, but what with being a snake and all, I'd expect Cuddles to be cold blooded, so he won't have any actual body heat to conserve. You can try keeping him against you skin (assuming you are warm blooded), or you can let him curl up naked under a light bulb. (An incandesant light bulb, not flourescent. Flourescents aren't warm enough.)

My ex-dog hated any clothing, even if it was a rag on his head.
