A thread inspired by vh1. So, what is your guilty tv, movie or music pleasure? Have you ever snuck up to your room late at night to listen to the latest daniel o'donnel or cliff richard album or really enjoyed the movie 'spiceworld'? Clear your conscience, confess all. Like disco music, just the really underground stuff, plus the new disco being made by cats like Bangkok Impact. Some of it is amazing, but people usually look at me like I'm from outerspace when I tell them this.

I watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer, I like weird-rock and new wave music, and once I watched a 1970's porno. But only once.

I like Phil Collins music.

I also enjoy retro RPG's.

Oh yeah, and I have a fetish for gothic girls. Minus tatoos and piercings, though.

I have every single Limp Bizkit album up to Chocolat Starfish.... (Though in my defence they were bought for me with no prior consultation and I never listen to them, cannot say the same about Cyndi though.)


Movie guilty pleasures:

Josie and the pussycats (see above)

Numerous cheesy, usually foreign, horror flicks. Most recent one was bought for me as a Christmas present and is called "Nude for Satan" (not so much a horror film as an excuse for an oversexed director to film the lead actress in various states of undress).

Cube 2 (Yes, I actually liked it. Not as good as the first though)

Any Charlie Chaplin film I can get my hands on.


Book guilty pleasures:

Dan Brown books. Similar to the Limp Bizkit albums. I bought the Da Vinci Code and was quite vocal about how stupid I thought it was. Still, people bought the others for me.

*spoiler warning* They all suck. Brown doesn't have ideas, he has a single formula which he rigidly sticks to. Langdon is probably the silliest Mary Lou character in the world. I bet he was praying to whatever demon is responsibly for well selling yet crap ideas that he would be picked to play the part in the film.

Also I have a great many books that I bought because they cost 50p and wanted something to read (this is how I got DVC), sometimes I strick lucky.

I also like The Donna's which for some reason seems like a guilty pleasure, maybe because I realise that they aren't all that good but still like them anyway.

Oh and I watch Recess. It's awesome. I used to watch Gilmore Girls too, although if I mentioned that to any male friends it just turned into a discussion about whether or not they were hot, so I that worked out ok.

I am a huge fan of the Star Wars movies, games and have read a few of the books... not to the extent of dressing up but i felt like a jedi in my graduation robe. But I party so it evens out.

Ah, don't worry. I was addicted to Hanson's Middle of Nowhere album when it came out, and new many other guys and girls that were. It kinda like people with Titanic. When it came out, it was the talk of the town, awesome in every way. Now people see it as overdramatic and "gay". I can't say I ever liked Backstreet Boys though...

A friend showed me an episode of some anime series he downloaded from the internet (name forgotten), I swear I will never forget the title of that episode though, "The Great Satanic Sex Monster."

A great big demon who would abduct young girls take them to his lair where his chest would open up and a multitude of tentacles with dicks on the end would have their wicked way with them.

I have no idea where this stuff is thought up. :confused:

There actually seems to be a lot of it out there, though...

I think it is a rebellion against not being able to show 'sex' - as in male-female penetration in Japanese television, maybe... so, they replace 'man-woman' with girl and weird tentacle thing....
