I absolutely think that the musical Hair (with Treat Williams, Beverly D'Angelo, etc) is the best movie of all time. It's awesomely psychadelic

I'll pick two..

"To Kill A Mockingbird" - the original version. With Gregory Peck

"12 Angry Men" - again, the original version. With Henry Fonda

I have no idea. I'll just submit a few that I like.

Donnie Darko
Who's Afraid of Virginian Woolfe?
Dark City
The Messenger

Probably none of them qualify as "the best film of all time", but all are worth a look.

The Shining or The Usual Suspects. Honourary mention to Monty Python & The Holy Grail
Pure Metal

The Noble Men

The Shawshank Redemption, as has been previously stated.

Or the one with Abi Titmuss. Poor cinametography, the dialogue's crap but the acting blows you away :D

The category is too general, but my vote goes to The Magnificent Seven. There are so many other great movies that were made back in the days before extravagent special effects reduced the requirement for actors to act.

Virginia Woolfe is a really great film. Liz Taylors best role in film.

As far as a favorite. I can't make that call. I love film. The more I see the better. You would have to be more specific for me to start listing films. For example

Best Musical film is a tie between
Singing In The Rain
&
Fiddler On The Roof

Suspense
The Usual Suspects

Sci Fi
Empire Strikes Back

Horror Tie between
Saw
&
The Exorcist

Comedy
Too many good ones to call

Stageplay Adaptation
Who's Afraid Of Virginia Woolfe

Shakespeare
Much Ado About Nothing

War Tie between
Glory
&
Full Metal Jacket

The list goes on & on from here.

Probably the politically correct answer is something like "Citizen Kane" or "Gone With The Wind"

But my favorite movie is Titanic.

I've cried for most of the last hour of that movie all six times I've seen it, and the very end (when she's dreaming perhaps her last dream and the crew, people and Jack welcome her back aboard the ship, praising her for telling the story) just jerks the tears from me like no other scene in any other film.

And I do not cry at movies... it's just a great love/adventure story, imo.

Call me odd, but I don't actually have a fave film. I go through phases of films I like, so here are a few of my faves (bear in mind I'm only a teenager, so there won't be any 'classics' on my list)

Romeo & Juliet; the Baz Luhrmann version
The Beach
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Seabiscuit
Schindler's List

There you go- the best films that I've ever seen!

I've always had a grudge against that movie because it won best picture over LA Confidential.

LA Confidential would have won just about any other year... another great film.

Thanks. I'll go edit the "e" out.
