Okay, this picture of Jupiter's moon, Io, looks like a big hunk of rotten cheese to me. Does it to you?

So that is what was at the back of the bottom shelf in the refridgerator. Sorry Jupiter, you can have your moon back now.

Nah, it's clearly a chucnk of Racletter Cheese. Those photos were taken by NASA @ a cheese factory. This is true because the voices my head told me so. :p  :D

When Io hits your eye like a big pizza pie,
That's a badly calculated orbit,

(There are sulfer loving bacteria on earth that could presumably live on Io. I wonder if there are any native, bacteria type, life there now?)

I'm not surprised in the least. All moons are made of cheese.

Io has always looked more like a cheese and tomato pizza to me.

Too crisp and clear to be a real picture to me.

If it is.. then yeah I see what you're talking about.

But I don't think it is.

To look at it, I'd say it's probably a false-colour radar image. Io is a lot darker than that.

But it's Io all right, however it was made. And yes, the poor moon looks like cheese.

It is a real picture. Why do you think it's too clear? Space is a vast empty...um.... space. Did you expect asteroids in the way, or rain or something?

Not at all.. im thinking more of the camera that took the picture then the planet, moon .. whatever. No, I don't think of Jupiter or Uranus etc. as some blurry mass.. but when I see a crystal clear image I doubt its purity.

As an Ionian, I am offended by this thread and have reported it. From Io, Earth looks the droppings of a Narblat who has eaten too much kreplict.

Under the image, it says....."Io in approximately true colour, photographed by the Galileo orbiter." So it's from the Galileo. NASA image.
