It's June and no invasion of Iran seems imminent!

So, can we admit that I was right way back in January or whenever that first thread on this topic came up (Or the second one in late April, early May where I made the exact same claim)? That the US is not going to go after Iran this month, next month or any time soon?

*checks calendar*

The Bush administration has 29 days left to cook up a national catastrophe. I wouldn't put anything past them 'till then. ;)

Al-Q doesn't stick to set dates.

Why should we? ;)

^ LOL

Iran has a population of 68 milion, and a GDP of $516 billion
Iraq: 26 million, 89.8 billion
Afghanistan: 29.9 million, 21.5 billion

If Iraq isn't this generation's Vietnam, than Iran will be if the US is foolish enough to go in, which they won't. The word "draft" would be very unpopular in the US, and that's what would have to happen if an Iran invasion was going to happen. Remember guys and gals, you can't just bomb a country to pieces and wipe your hands, there's a little more to it than that.

It's a lot more complicated than just bombing runs (I know that doesn't make sense or seem relevant, if you want a lengthy explanation tlak to me in person)

I don't personally know any military personnal that support the current war in Iraq, though most that I know would have supported removing Saddamn's regime in a surgical strike or non-hostile way.

They'd have to hurry to invade by the end of the month, and the idea is even stupid.

No way man, liberals are never wrong. In fact, we probably already invaded and the CIA just covered it up, like how we "found" bin Laden in October to throw the election to Bush, even though we had him the whole time or he never existed, or whatever it was. The conspiracy is everywhere.

I remember you saying that at the start of the year.

If we're smart, we'll start (if we haven't already) smuggling weapons and tactics information to the moderate rebellious segments of the Iranian population that are opposed to the current theocracy. The students in particular are pretty close to mounting a full-scale revolution against the Ayotollah. All they need is the right push and a chunk of underground logistical support.

But seriously, I think the Bush administration will sit back and let Iran and any other country except Iraq obtain all the nukes they want.
