I've been wondering for a while now who on this forum considers themselves Trotskyists. I consider myself one, but i cannot find a trotskyist party on this site. Am i blind, or are there none?

Sorry I am a bit uninformed...
Could you run through the definition of a Trotskyite party I never knew that much about Trotsky or his policies.

It is basically the same as Leninists, with the main difference being we believe in permanent revolution.

In Havana, Cuba there are murals that say the Revolution Lives or the Revolution is Eternal. Is that what you mean by a permanent revolution?

No, permanent revolution is kind of like everywhere turning to communism at approximately the same time, to avoid a one communist state that is doomed from the start... (ie:Soviet Union)....

From NationMaster Definition:
The future revolution must be led by the proletariat who would not only carry through the tasks of the Bourgeois Democratic Revolution but would move directly to the social or socialist revolution. In this sense the revolution would be made permanent. Trotsky believed that a new socialist state would not be able to hold out against the pressures of a hostile capitalist world unless socialist revolutions quickly took hold in other countries as well. This theory was advanced in opposition to the position held by the Stalinist faction within the Bolshevik Party that "socialism in one country" could be built in the Soviet Union. Bourgeois at the end of the thirteenth century. ... The proletariat (from Latin proles, offspring) is a term used to identify a lower social class; a member of such a class is called a proletarian. ... The color red and particularly the red flag are traditional symbols of Socialism. ...

OK from my (fairly patchy) understanding of the subject permanent revolution means that the wheels of change were permantly in motion to secure a worldwide workers revolution after the Bolshevik take over in Russia in 1917.
The signs in Havana are, as i understand it, mere propaganda as Cuba does not try and encourage proletariat revolution in other countries to consolidate its own power.
Is this right or horribly horribly wrong?

If I understand you correctly Permanent Revolution seems like a very difficult thing to accomplish as it means simultaneous or successive revolutions throughout the world (the Domino Theory?). Wouldn't it be easier to do what Castro has done and create an example for subsequent generations (ie. Chavez) to follow?

Why not?

Showing people the power of Communism does not work unless they experience it first hand in the pure way. Seeing a country like cuba establish a socialist nation does nothing for the guy who knows nothing about politics, the little man..to experience socialism first hand is the only way to prove to most of the world that it can work.

The example of the Cuban Revolution has inspired many Latin American revolutionary groups. Many of these were developed by university students, but the longest lasting revolutionary group (FARC of Colombia) was initially formed by uneducated peasants and emerged out of necessity. From reading about their early history I came to the conclusion that the first form of government humans encountered was communism. Communal tribal living is still very common in East Asian countries and Latin American countries but what separates people like them from the educated communist is they practice while the educated communist preaches. Is this what you mean when you talk about the little man who knows nothing about politics?

In my own opinion, Stalinism is not the best form of communism, but i dont think it can last more then a hundred years. I am a Trotskyist.

Yes in some aspects, but i didnt really mean revolutionaries interested in a new way of life, i was more directing the point to the realists who arent interested in politics and have the attitude of: "show me and i'll believe"
