Favourite Star Wars Character

Ok now come everyone loves star wars and if they don’t they should be made too. What I am interested in though is who is your favourite character from the new series and the old series and why (doesn’t have too be too descriptive-mine aren’t) also if you want your favourite quote of theirs.

From the Old series my favourite is Darth Vader or Han Solo.
It would be Darth because come on he’s soooo evil and cool and evil. Han Solo because he’s smooth, a rouge and an awesome shot, ace Pilot and just unbelievably cool.

From the New Series, Yoda. Yoda is little old man in pyjamas doing all those amazing moves with a lightsabre. Also he is like the most powerful Jedi ever. And he talks funny but mace windu is also really cool (HE HAS A PURPLE LIGHTSABRE!)

Yeah that’s it from me now you guys try.....

So, Chewbacca.

Like batman, but meaner.
And he never died when he fell into the big sand/mouth/thing. It just took him days to climb back out. It would have killed luke in the same circumstance.

The green slave woman with tentacles coming out of her head. You know, the one who dances for Jabba. Yes, that's right, the one whose breast falls out of her costume in the original Return of the Jedi. Her. She is so hot I could beam her up all night.

In the old series I would say Yoda, because he appears serene, mysterious and has great one-liners. He adds to the mystery and depth of the Star Wars trilogy, as there is still so much we dont really know about him, at this stage since he has lived for 900 years..
In the new ones, the only one I've seen is the Phantom Menace, so it has to be Liam Neeson- or Qui-Gon, because he seems to be the only one who can act..
And what the hell did they do to Yoda's face?? he has HUGE forehead ridges which make him look nothing like the first Yoda..GRR
I hope they've improved that in the second and third..
So anyway, there you have it.

Obi-Wan, no question.

I agree. Ewan McGregor did a fantastic job, but Alec Guiness is just great. After watching the new episodes, you realize just how much the movies depended on Han Solo's character. I thought Qui-Gon was done really well and he made up for Solo in the first movie, but Attack of the Clones was just Crap (Except for the Yoda duel).

Yoda kicks ass, man, in all of the movies. Obi-Wan's cool too. I'd have to say Darth Maul was the most under-rated baddie ever, he should have had a bigger part.

The Humble Stormtrooper. Their uniforms are cool, and offer no blaster protection at all, even though they are supposed to absorb blaster fire. Funny that.

I also love the TIE fighter. So much potential... if only at the battle of Yavin they'd not been so bigheaded and launched all fighters rather than 3...

Jango Fett was pretty awesome too, and something about Darth Maul makes him the most kick ass bad guy ever.

That was a fantastic scene. I think it's the horns and the double bladed light saber that make Darth Maul the most kick ass bad guy ever. Jango Fett was pretty bad. That boy that played Boba Fett was horrible.

Attack of the Clones: Jango Fett
Revenge of the Sith: Obi Wan or Darth Vader
A New Hope: Obi Wan
The Empire Strikes Back: Yoda
Return of the Jedi: The Emperor

They are not supposed to protect against direct hits - they are supposed to protect against area effects like explosions. But yes - a personal shield like the droids have could have been implemented.

Episodes I-III: None of them... well, maybe that Alien that ran the Diner, or Qui-Gon, but none of hte characters that stretched all the way through the prequels were really all that interesting to me. Kenobi was kind of 'prissy', Anakin was a whiny little bitch, and Padme? Well... she's cute an all, and the actress did a good job with shite lines, but really-falling for Angstyboy??

then, I remember: Yoda. Yoda has all the style in the prequels, he has so much, there was none left for Mace Windu. Yoda.

Episodes IV-VI: Han Solo. I wanted to be Han Solo when I grew up. Forget the whiny farmboy, or the walking carpet, Han was definitely Da Man.

Stormtrooper #542159Yeah, mine too, although Stormtrooper #532227 was pretty good too. Remember, the one who yelled "Charge" in II? ;)

Really though, I dislike Star Wars. It has little character development and we don't get to know who all those people are. I mean, it says, "They are helped by Keyflegg Whattlespout", and then we never get to find out who Keyflegg Whattlespout happens to be - he's never introduced by name, instead we see this guy help the main character by shooting a bad guy, we don't have the psychic powers to guess their names.

Out of Star Wars, my favourite character is HK-47.

In the movies, it's Boba Fett. A little prone to attacks of incompetance, but still the finest damned bounty hunter in the galaxy.

I'd have preferred it if he didn't have a speaking line. Passive aggressive characters who don't allow you to see their face make for amazing bad guys. Well, when done right. Like Boba Fett was. Except he spoke.

Shut up.

I think darth vader should have got a much bigger part in episode 3, but overall they pulled it off well. Episode 1 was fairly dull, but not too bad and yes darth maul should have had a much bigger part. I liked Episode 2, but its no match for 3 and onwards. My favourite jedi/sith has got to be darth vader, hands down. Outside of jedi/sith, its Boba Fett by a long way, he should have kicked more ass in episode 5 and 6. IG-88 isnt bad, but you just cant beat old Boba.

Dunno...I was always a fan of Wedge Antilles. He never had to rely on the Force, he just....kicks ass. Especially in the Rogue Squadron books.

Aside from him, second place is a hard-fought battle between Fett, Vader, and Yoda. I once had a full-on conversation with Jeremy Bulloch (He Who Playeth The Fett) about who was hardest- Fett or Vader. I have to plump for Vader though. Because he's the uber evil badass.

Mind you Episode II's Crouching Jedi Hidden Muppet scene was truly Yoda's finest hour, and the funniest SW Scene yet....

Yoda. wisest of all He is. Better than the other Jedi he fights. The reason he is alive that is. Of course my favorite Yoda line is from the spoof, "Tried to warn you we did. Now screwed we all are."

From the Old (originals) Han was always my favorite. A bad boy with a good heart and attitude to spare. What could be better?

In the old series it is a toss up between Leia Organa and Han Solo.

Leia was a really great character, the strong, hands on, leadership type with out being a cold hard bitch. Plus she had some great lines, she was the only character in the series that hit everything she shot at with a blaster, and to top it all off she was sexy as all hell when Jabba had her on a chain.

Han really held the story together, he made everything flow beautifully, he was a total badass without the angst, and he had Chewy. I mean really, think how freaking shallow the story would be without Han Solo and his walking carpet! Plus he had a kickass ship and pistol.

Notably great characters in the old series: Darth Vader (classic villain), Boba Fett (total badass x10), Lando Calrissian (give the man some credit, he was cool!), and of course Yoda!

(Since main characters died more often in the new series I'll do it movie by movie.)

Ep I

Qui-Gon Jinn, without any doubt the epitome of the Jedi Knights. Perpetually calm even in the face of death, a wise mentor, and a man of profoundly good character. He was without any doubt the greatest Jedi Knight (not master) in the series. Period.

Darth Maul, I mean really this guy looked evil, I mean he exuded evil. Evil dripped from every pore of his tattooed body, so evil was he that he was awesome in the most brilliant, and almost completely SILENT way. Even when he did speak his smooth voice dripped evil! Definitely the most underrated and overlooked character in the entire series. Plus he was one hell of a Saber fighter, oh and did I mention how evil he was?

Ep II

Yoda, he shined here, whether he was giving advice and instruction, commanding armies of clones, or whooping Count Dooku's ass left, right, center, top, bottom and behind all at once. :p He fulfilled his role as Jedi Master completely, he was THE MAN, as wise and as brilliantly subtle as always yet at the same time so awesomely over the top!

Did I mention how cool Yoda was in this movie?

Ep III

Obi-Wan Kenobi, he was at his best in this movie. Here, he really filled out as a Jedi, as well as a master and mentor, he did his job and in my mind he lived up at least to his old master Qui-Gon. Through the whole series this guy kicked ass, he pwned Maul (who was, dare I say, very evil), General Grievous, and finally Darth Vader. Even as an old fart this guy hadn't lost a drop of his awesomeness (well, maybe just a little as far as Saber skill goes :p). General Kenobi, you ROCK!

Emperor Palpatine, another one that positively dripped evil. This fork tongued devil was a monster in coolest possible way. Can you say "Jedi Mind Trick: Sith Edition" anyone? How do you think this snake got where he did? He worked people over like they where puppets, everyone, even the Jedi Counsel, even when they were suspicion he used them. Three apprentices later this guy still keeps working. Even getting toasted couldn't take this guy down a notch, in fact it only brought out the pure EVIL in the man! Plus, when the shit hit the fan he could still draw a Saber and whoop some ass, not to mention hold off Yoda!

Notably great characters in the old series: Mace Windu (he made the Emperor beg and blubber, that plus toast), Jango Fett (As cool as his clone), General Grievous (this guy straight up pwned, great character), Count Dooku (not the best of Palp's apprentices but still a imposing character), and finally Yoda (did I mention how cool Yoda is?)

With the exception of two characters who have prominent roles in separate movies, and shall not be named becuase they will atone in hell for ruining the movies in wich they appeared, I dont think there is a bad major character in any of the Star Wars movies.

Kenobi, both Skywalkers, Solo, Palpatine, Yoda...all of them each adding something memorable to the movies they appeared in.

For me, its all about Yoda.

Wisdom, compassion, intelligence, and the ability to turn into a little green cuisinart.

Yoda is the best mentor/guru ever to appear in film.

Darth Vader, is without a doubt, the best villian ever.

Vader also, is the Duke.
