Living in England, as I do, too young to remember the fall of the berlin wall and Apartheid, you may be wondering why I've written this thread. I am glad that both instistutions are gone and I am glad that the EU is working reunite Europe but still somthing troubles me. It is not reported much, but more and more I hear stories of European farmers being turfed of their land by militia or "war veterans" as they are generically refered too, although I admit I do not know enough about the local history to know which War this refers to, and left escaping with only a few possessions. This is most notable in Zimbabwae where the European ethnic population is fairly low. This being said Mugabae can be perhaps excused certain acounts of Racism as he seems to act a bastard to practically everyone. Take this article I found,

"Harare - Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe said on Friday that his party is considering amending the country's constitution to make it easier for the government to take over land owned by the country's former white farmers. He told a meeting of his ruling Zanu PF that the government's controversial five-year-old land reform lacked finality. Under the land reform, thousands of white-owned farms were seized for redistribution to new black farmers. "There are a few other areas of our constitution which we need to consider for amendment," Mugabe told senior party officials in comments broadcast on state television news. "These include that area that relates to land acquisition and land resettlement." "That process [of acquiring land and handing it over to new black farmers] should have finality," he said. It was not immediately clear what amendments the veteran leader had in mind, but in an apparent reference to the numerous court objections lodged by the former white landowners to the "compulsory acquisition" of their farms, Mugabe accused them of employing "delaying tactics". Earlier this year, state media reported that the courts have to clear more than 5,000 challenges to the government's land takeovers.

Despite the court objections, only a few hundred or so white commercial farmers are still on their farms. Since 2000, Mugabe's government has taken over 5 890 farms measuring 7.8 million hectares for redistribution to black farmers. Mugabe also expressed regret on Friday at some of the damage caused by a police operation to stamp out illegal activities in the country's towns and cities. In Harare, the operation, dubbed Restore Order, has mainly been aimed at street vendors and flea market operators whom the government accuses of lowering the image of the capital as well as dealing on the black market. Market stalls in Harare have been torched by the police and ramshackle settlements on the outskirts of the city have been flattened. "Whilst we regret any damage that was done to places that did not need to be damaged, we are full of praise for the action the police have taken," Mugabe said.

Mugabe also doesn't allow the BBC into Zimbabwe because they are a 'corrupt governmental organisation' or somesuch nonsense. The business with Zimbabwe was reported in a lot of detail some time ago, when the situation was at a high point (when white farmers and their families were sometimes killed by the militia). It hasn't been reported much recently because it is old news. Really, there is bugger all we can do (legally) to help the white farmers.

This issue has been on my mind for a long time and hearing recently that Pretoria's name was being change to a more "African" one has galavanized me into action. Black Africans make up 75% of the south African population (although according to my atlas 8.6% are coloured but I'm not sure what that refers to) it is clear that Balck culture must play a strong part in south African but that doeas not mean that European influences should be removed.

What ever your beliefs on this front fundmentally it is wrong that people can have their land removed without compensation. It was wrong that ethnic Africans were removed from their land but it happened and reversing it will cause nothing but grief. Using the same logic used by African leaders like Mugabae it could be claimed that as in thoery all humans are "out of Africa" then Europians have the right to claim land that Africans drove them off a few milion years ago AND that was during an ice age. Where will it end, Native Americans recaiming the Eastern states? Muslims in Eastern Europe who entered after the fall of the Byzantine Empire? The fact is that African Europians are being treated with racism, blatant and aggresily. The EU has done nothing to help. Zimbabwain (spelling, never mystrong point) racism is spreading to Nimibia and South Africa. In south Africa alone there are about 6 million Europians, just think about it for a moment, thats 50% more then the whole population of Ireland and 12 times the population of Luxembourg, and the'yre both in the EU.

The Great Britain's EU presidency begins this year. This offers an ideal oppurtunity for action. In addition to this the UK presidency of G8 also begins this year. All evidence sugguests that replacing skilled farmers and replacing them soley on the basis of their race leads to famine and human misery. The EU represents a block of 450million Europeans. If with such influence on world trade if the EU flexed its Muscles it could bring about a peaceful end to these problems. If other countries, the US, canada, Austrialia, New Zealand also banded together then without doubt the racism could end. But insteas, perhaps a little embarrased of our colonial pasts, we do nothing and hope that the problem will resolve itself. I fear without EU moderation at what cost.

In case you needed further persuading

Our organisation has extensive evidence - which was even presented to Amnesty International -- that the Afrikaner nation is deliberately being ethnically-cleansed in South Africa under the (Nazi-style Neurenberg- "racial purity") laws of President Thabo Mbeki and his ruling black African National Congress party, which is run primarily by one tribe, namely Mbeki's Xhosa tribe.

Mbeki's own tribal members are indeed the primary beneficiaries of Mbeki's policies - and are referred to as the wealthy Xhosa-elite by the SA news media -- and this fact also means that the African National Congress is a Nationalist-Socialist party, i.e. Nazi for short. Aren't Nazis outlawed in most countries? So why is your government still supporting with this Nazi party of South Africa - and indeed why is President Bush is all set to receive this vile Nazi dictator in the White House?

The ANC's own racial purity laws - so very similar to those of the Nazis -- are called the "Black Economic Empowerment" laws - and these laws, exactly as did the Neurenberg laws to the Jews under the Nazis, also are effectively barring the vast majority of Afrikaners except a token few, from public life.

It does not matter how well-educated or experienced these Afrikaners are in their jobs - and indeed they form the best-educated group in South Africa -- but only because of their ethnic origin, the Afrikaners now are continuously being fired and being denied access to any public- and private-sector jobs because of the "BEE-laws" - some companies even have signs up saying "Afrikaner males need not apply" -- and all because they have the wrong skin colour and speak Afrikaans at home.

The socalled 'coloured" 5-million Afrikaans-speakers are also beginning to suffer the same fate in the Western Cape province, where the Xhosa-elite is taking over all the public- and private sector jobs and firing Afrikaans-speakers under the BEE-laws - in spite of the fact that the 'coloured' Afrikaners, classified as a "previously-disadvantaged" racial group, often also supported and voted for the ANC in the past.

Clearly the ANC-regime hates all things Afrikaans, because they are also removing more than 80,000 Afrikaans names from the South African landscape, including unilaterally changing the name of the capitol city, Pretoria. It was built and founded by Afrikaners when they still had their own independent Boer Republics ( up to 1902) and therefore the name is hated by the regime.

All the Afrikaans-language schools, churches, universities and even libraries are being forced to anglicise, their language is being trampled upon in the courts where Afrikaners are often denied due process of law by being forced to conduct/participate in trials in a foreign language under the pretence that no "qualified translators" are still available.

Laws are being made against the use of Afrikaans and public presence of Afrikaners everywhere =- Afrikaner families are also being attacked and murdered increasingly in the cities for no discernable reason other than violence -- and the very land the Afrikaners' forefathers have farmed and indeed greatly improved for so many generations since 1656, is now being stolen away from them under the ANC's so-called land-reform programme - and also by the organised squatter armies the ANC supports, and which are invading farms everywhere and destroying any possibility of agricultural production by their 'slash and burn' so-called farming methods.
