An organ (musical instrument, not meat) salesman has been charged with "exploiting the elderly" for repeatedly selling an alzheimer's victim expensive organs. He managed to sell her 4 in one day! I agree that he crossed a line when the elderly woman's family asked him to stop selling to her yet he persisted, but is what he did really against the law?

You would think that the guy would have some decency, especially after the famly asked him to leave her alone.

However, the burden falls on the family, not him, they should be responsible.. That being said, his business is now going to suffer because it will be known that this store is so unscrupulous that they will take advantage of alzheimer sufferers. Free markets at work, gotta love it.

The woman spent about $25,000 on organs and ended up with one worth only about half that, said sheriff's spokesman Kevin Doll. He said she has not received any money back from the music store, Fletcher Music Center at Gulfview Square Mall.

There you go. Against the law.

Yes -- if he's taking her money without giving her anything in return, that's just plain, old fashioned theft. Just because she doesn't remember that he stole from her and keeps going back does not change the fact that he is ripping her off.

Florida is...'special'.

On Fark.com they are given their own tag. So much weird stuff occurs in Florida they decided it was necessary to make one everytime a Florida article is posted.

Did you miss part about the fraud/theft? The violation of the law?

Laws and prosecution at work. Gotta love it.
