you gotta admit they do make him a lot of moolah:p
and there is another one coming out... i think University is out already, and Nightlife is coming soon. glad i learned my lesson with the Sims 1: don't waste money on expansion packs for a game you're bored with already. the 5 minutes of fun they reintroduce really isn't worth it

True but it's still blasphemous how they became the most sucessful pc games in history.
(ok i did have fun getting all the men in a town pregnant with aliens.)

lol:p

the original Sims did deserve its #1 place because it was truly original (at least for the mass market). i remember being so excited playing it for the first time - it was like nothing i had played before... even more open ended and fun than Sim City for example.
but the Sims 2 deserves nothing. all it did was add updated graphics to an already successful format. i bought it and was seriously dissappointed.
i was also disappointed like hell with Rome Total War which came out about the same time. since then i just lost interest in videogames & have become really disillusioned with the whole lot:(

Spore will change that i'm sure :)

All i want to do is create a race of flying gorillas with sand timer bodies and call them space fairies that destroy all other races. :0

Another one is a bloated sack that drags it self forward on 16 scythed front legs with eyestalks and can only walk forward and sideways.

I loved the Sims 2. It was much, much better than the original - with the larger number of actions, the better graphics... Why would people rather play a game with garbage graphics and not be able to do things like have their characters relax and read on their bed? It's the little changes that make everything that much better.

Spore looks like it will be very interesting, but I don't expect too many fundies to seriously look at it because of the 'blasphemous' aspects. You know. Playing god (intentional small caps), and all that.

BLASPHEMY.

I can somewhat see your point, because the 3 TW games use a very similar formula.... but I'm still playing RTW (I now play RTR www.rometotalrealism.com) to this day because I enjoy the strategising so much. It also has the best blend of Turn based and RTS that I've yet to see (I suck at turn based games, but RTS games tend to devolve into build base and heavy infantry/tank rush.)

I love the Sims and The Sims 2 definitly improved it, I can't get enough of the game and I can't wait for Spore...but you know some of the stuff they're talking about won't make it into the game, it's nowhere near release.

I didn't like it. (I'm a Christian). The pace of the game, it's just so damn slow!

I waited and bought them all when they came out in a compilation pack. :D
