Well, I've been strutting through my pile of 'to-read' articles all week, and I've come across some review of a book (which I will not name by the title) and several articles (in magazines and newspapers I won't name) that explain how certain political powers (which I will not name) and certain politicians and otherwise economically and socially influensive people in high places (which, again, I will not name) seem to use certain governmental apparatuses (which I will not name, but they are three-letter words, and one longer word that ends with "ecret service") to "monitor and process" all kinds of internet-based logs and forums that discuss (inter)national politics, to single out and identify "subversives" and "upstarts" which might pose a threat to "the proud American society" (read: the conservative parts of the American government).
Now, seeing as I've went into a (minor) clash with several of the more conservative parts of this forum, and because I'm European (you know, that bunch of land that is sometimes deemed as "the enemy of the free American world"), and because I'm a member of this "democratic communist party" we have on this forum (the C-word? You're a dead mean!) and seeing as this forum wildly discusses political and social topics, and seeing as how "the powers" monitor similar forums... are we being watched? Would the covert operatives please be so nice as to identify themselves? Should I be worried?

PS And if you so would decide to "fix me", please don't hurt my animals - they're all orphans I take care of, they have nothing to do with my obvious ignorance and "blatant hatred" of your fool-proof society, and are completely harmless even if left to their own devices. Oh, and I would like my ashes to be distributed over the North-Sea.

It wouldnt surprise me if that were the case. The American government is an omnipresent force not only within it's borders, but throughout the world. As it was mentioned earlier in this forum, the internet is a prime spot for dissention. The effect of such activity doesn't really pose a threat to "the American way of life", but we can bet that Big Brother will take interest in it anyways...

No way it would be a moderator. It would be a computer program that looks for keywords and copies posts containing them for analyst's review. It would be logged in such a way as to appear to be a lurker.
