A Happy Birthday wish from me to you!

Today I turned 62. This birthday is a rather important one to me, since it will almost double my income. :D
Rather than expecting all sorts of celebrations and congratulations, I thought I was give all of you a gift. No, you shouldn't be expecting something in the mail. It's just a wish for you: that you would come to realize, at a bone-deep level, that we are all brothers and sisters beneath the skin.
This isn't just some high-sounding phrase to which you can say, "Oh, isn't that nice!" It's the honest to goodness, complete and unvarnished truth. Take a moment, forget all the political, economic and religious issues which divide us from each other, and remember that genetic mapping has proven beyond the shadow of a doubt that we are all descended from one African woman who lived about 150,000 years ago.*
I can't think of anything, of whatever monetary value, I could give you that would be more valuable than that. Yes, I know you would rather have a car, but cars wear out, rust away, and wind up in the junkyard. This bit of knowledge, if it truly sinks in on you, should radically alter your behavior for the rest of your life.
Have a wonderful life! I know I have. :)

An important message...on a special day. :)
Happy Birthday! Hopefully we'll all take that message to heart.
...but don't tell me your awake again!? :eek:

Thank you.
Yes, I had nightmares again. This is usually how they happen, important date to me = several nights of really bad nightmares. I suspect it's my punishment for being so happy most of the time. :D

Well its a fine gift. Thank-you and Happy Birthday. The older I get, the more respect I have for anyone who manages to get past 60 in one piece (as a decent human being, not necessarily physicaly) It looks good on you, keep on trucking.

Always! And thanks! :)
Ever since Vietnam, my motto has been, "Never give up, never surrender, never say 'die' and take no prisoners!" My ex, who ocassionally wanted to be left alone ( Heh! ), once asked me what I would do when I got too old to. I told her that when I got to seventy, it might take me all day to work up to it, but that around 8 PM she'd best be prepared! ( And that was before Viagra! ) :D

Happy Birthday!
I have to thank this man because he introduced me to the Grateful Dead :D
For that, Sir, you are a legend :D
Have a great day, sorry you can't sleep, but that means you are awake for longer on your birthday so more to remember! :D
Speaking of the Grateful Dead...
We can share the women, we can share the wine.
We can share what we got of yours 'cause we done shared all of mine.
Keep on rollin', just a mile to go;
Keep on rollin' my old buddy, you're movin' much too slow.
I just jumped the watchman, right outside the fence.
Took his rings, four bucks in change, ain't that Heaven sent?
Hurts my ears to listen, Shannon, burns my eyes to see;
Cut down a man in cold blood, Shannon, might as well been me.
We used to play for silver, now we play for life;
And one's for sport and one's for blood at the point of a knife.
And now the die is shaken, now the die must fall.
There ain't a winner in the game, he don't go home with all.
Not with all.
Leavin' Texas, fourth day of July,
Sun so hot, the clouds so low, the eagles filled the sky.
Catch the Detroit Lightnin' out of Sante Fe,
The Great Northern out of Cheyenne, from sea to shining sea.
Gotta go to Tulsa, first train we can ride.
Gotta settle one old score, one small point of pride.
There ain't a place a man can hide, Shannon will keep him from the sun
Ain't a bed can give us rest now, you keep us on the run.
Jack Straw from Wichita cut his buddy down,
And dug for him a shallow grave and laid his body down.
Half a mile from Tucson, by the morning light,
One man gone and another to go, my old buddy you're moving much too slow.
We can share the women, we can share the wine

Put it like this, its the same beat all the time, no variation, a serious lack of creativity in both lyrics and musical talent....argh :(
