Who is your favorite American politician and why?

My favorite politician is Texas representative Ron Paul. He ran as the Libertarian Party's presidential candidate back in the 80s and then got his present job as a Republican, but he's basically still a Libertarian. He voted against the new Marriage Defence Act, he lectures congress about their ignoring of the Bill of Rights, and he stays strict to the constitution usually. A good man, IMO. Would make a hell of a President I think.

If I had to choose a politician on the national level, I suppose I would go with Senator Robert Byrd of West Virginia. As for any other U.S. politicians, San Francisco's mayor Gavin Newsom is a favourite of mine too. I live in San Francisco and I definitely think things have improved a bit since he took office. Most people around the country only know him for his brief time in the lime light when the city/county allowed legal same-sex marriages.

I generally respect John McCain(R-AZ) and George Voinovich(R-OH) the most.

I could respect Lieberman a bit more, if he wasn't involved in griping about video game violence and the like.

Holy shit! You're in Columbus! I'm in Columbus too!

If you go to the Northstar cafe tonight [on high and second, right across from white castle], I'll wash your dishes. God, what a shit job. :headbang:

My favorite is also John McCain. He's a good man who worries more about what's best for the country than what's best for his political party or career.

Yeah, I took a match test once, and I was like the exact opposite of Lieberman. If Gore won, we'd have less violent movies. Tipper Gore was like Margaret Thatcher with that stuff!

Quality. I could have a mod wash my dishes.

Dish washing is a shitty job, I know that.

Well, I'm off to work. Andaluciae; I'm always up for meeting NSers, so if you want just mosey on down there sometime tonight [preferably before 6 or after 9] and holler to the bald guy in the dishroom, I'd be more than happy to meet you. Just walk towards the john and hang a right, it's impossible to miss ;)

Well, I'll see if I can swing by, but my schedules packed (going to DC tomorrow), so who knows if I'll be able to do so

I have to say I have the most respect for McCain. He's a moderate who seems trusting and hardworking.

Yes, I have respect for him as well. If he runs for president in 08, I may have to not vote Libertarian, and vote for him instead. That is unless Mark Warner, the gov. of Virginia runs for president. Then it'll be a hard choice.

Oh, and I like the more liberal senator from Pennsylvania as well.

I respect Ralph Nader, and Howard Dean. I also respect Colin Powell, though he is a republican and a hawk, and part of a lie, he was the most moderate member of the Bush administration, and I respect that.

She kinda scares me. Reminds me of Tipper Gore, who is my least favorite person in the world. Wanted to ban a whole lot of movies.
