I am sorry for posting this here but I need to know one thing.
What do you english speakers call the thing that was on the front of an old ship (war ship) around the late 18th and early 19th century's? It was usually a wooden figure of a woman. Do you understand what I mean??

I have always called it "the naked woman on the front of a boat," however, it appears that "figurehead" is the appropriate term.
