Freedom of Speech Doesn't Mean Freedom From Criticism

Seems like that should be obvious, since freedom of speech is in place essentially to provide the freedom to criticize.

But every so often I run into people who seem to have gotten it all mixed up. So I thought I'd put up a reminder.

Because someone criticizes something that does not mean they are infringing on thier freedom of speech.

Just in case.

Exactly.
I respect an individuals right to form and voice their own opinions, but that doesn't mean I respect the opinion itself.

I think it was Voltaire who said of Rousseau "I don't agree with a word you say but I'll defend to the death your right to say it."
