I want to talk

The Land of the Enemy

Hi, I'm The Land of the Enemy. My name is the English translation of the world "mordor," that I blatently ripped off of J.R.R. Tolkien. I am extremely bored right now and just feel like posting something, but I don't know what to say. Any suggestions?

I'm not married. I never was.

The kids are doing just fine. Timy just got off parole and Johnny's therapist says that Johnny can now attend school after taking only one tranquilizer every hour.

Oh... That's so good to hear. How about Scotty? Last I heard, he wsa on trial for killing his wife and unborn child. The media was making a big circus about that but I didn't really pay all that close attention.

Oh yeah, the stupid courts found little Scotty guilty and sentenced him to death. Can you believe it? Death based on circumstial evidence. They had not one shred of solid evidence that pointed my Scotty being the killer.

Oh by the way, mom died.

Yeah, they pulled her feeding tube out. They said it was for the best. I don't really know what was said to defend her, but I think there was a good point in ther somewhere.

I don't know where but there has to be a good reason for everything.

We could play the "what if" game all night long. I don't want to answer any more pointless "what if" problems.

But I will indulge this. You see, I have trained myself very well to think before making any movements with my muscles, thus I am able to fully control any speech that would otherwise be pointless.

You said that you don't make pointless statements, but you answered a pointless "what if" question. Is not the answer to a pointless question pointless in itself because it anwers tha tthat has no point and therefore could have no point unto itself.

No.

Because the answer to the pointless question is making the point that the question has no point. So there is the answer's point, that the question has no point.

The act of answering to a pointless quetion is pointless. You would make a much stronger point that the question is pointless by not answering it, thus proving that it has no point to answer. By answering it, you provethat it has a point.

Not necessarily. If a regular point is made, then it need be only a point to be understood by the pointer, and not the pointee. Granted, it would be mutually beneficial for both parties had the point been a valid point, and thus understood and agreed upon by said parties.

I mean that as a statement, not as a question.
The Land of the Enemy

Would you care to clarify the difference between a regualar point and a valid one.

A point can be made by anyone. A point being made is all a matter of point of view. Thus, one can always make a point and no one can tell you that you have no point, because, though they don't get it, you have a point in your own mind. A valid point is a point that is seen and accepted as a point between the pointer and pointee. They do not have to agreen on the point, they just need to be able to acknowledge it.
