There is a difference between running and pouting and doing something intelligent.
Every country would be alot safer if they just plugged their ears everytime the US decided to talk.

That's only an option for post-industrial economies, and even then it's a bad idea. At a minimum you'd want to be listening for the saber rattling and plan accordingly

How is this "running off and pouting and crying"? It looks like standard diplomatic procedure to me. I don't see where the humour is, except perhaps in trying to portray a very valid diplomatic stance with childish petulance in order to make one's own side appear grown-up and mature (when in reality it only looks arrogant and condescending).
