Wookies or libertarians?

I was just at the LP's site and I found this (http://www.lp.org/yourturn/archives/000024.shtml)
So apparently, Mr. O'Reiley doesn't think there's much of a difference between Wookies and libertarians.

Me neither! And neither does a fellow named Darth Garner:
Libertarians and Wookies actually have a lot in common. I am offended at someone else (in my party) being offended at this. Being compared to the peaceful, hard-working Wookies is a compliment in my opinion.

The Republicans resemble Jawas and the Sith, and the Democrats resemble Twi'leks or ineffectual Gungans. When it's all said and done, if we resemble anyone in Star Wars, it would have to be the Wookies.

Libertarians have less hair than Wookies and we can actually use human language, and most of us don't live in trees. Beyond that, we have a lot in common.

1. Wookies don't believe in gun control.

2. Wookies love their independence and were willing to fight for it.

3. Wookies believe in self-reliance and free trade. They wouldn't allow trade restrictions to be placed on their logging industry, etc. and would rather die than be subjugated/enslaved.

4. Wookies had a very loose primitive government structure.

Your example of that oxymoronic libertarian socialist doesn't cut the cheese.

How many times?

Yo, Capitalist.
During the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939), whole cities and regions declared "comunismo libertario" [Libertarian Communism]. Anarchists and syndicalists had been using the term "Libertarian" for at least the previous century.

To cut to the chase; stop using our moniker (and tarnishing its good reputation), kthxbi.

Doesn't mean those communists and syndicalists were using the right terminology.....

Yeah, what would they know? I mean, they only invented the term, right? A political party in the 20th century gave it a new meaning! How arrogant of those communists and sydicalists to assume their usage is correct without consulting the Libertarian Party of the USA!

I thought the classical liberals took the term libertarian after the American liberals took their name?
