<< Bush: "I'm sick and tired of the unfair Hitler comparisons".

WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Bush is hopeful the recent Darth Vader comparisons he's experienced during the past month will soon overtake previous comparisons to Adolph Hitler, Joseph Stalin and other ruthless dictators known for murder, genocide, torture and oppression.

"The President is hopeful that his image will continue to soften during and after the premiere of the final Star Wars movie," White House Spokesman Scott McClellan said at a press conference Tuesday. "President Bush is well aware that Darth Vader is considered a villain in most parts of the world, but deep inside the robotic exterior of the sadistic leader of the Dark Side, lurks a man who was not only a Jedi warrior but also the object of Natalie Portman's affection. The President can live with that."

Bush, who has seen all the Star Wars movies, denies ever actually rooting for the Dark Side, and has stated on multple occasions that as the leader of the free world he needs to remain fair and impartial and not seem like he's taking sides. He uses the same approach during the Super Bowl.

"All I know is I'm not like Hitler at all," Bush said at the White House Rose Garden Tuesday. "For starters Hitler was German and had a mustache. I'm American and I've never had a mustache. I had long sideburns during the seventies, but so did everyone else. That doesn't make me like Hitler and I'm sick and tired of the unfair comparisons.

How about comparing the Democrats to Hitler as of late?
It's the equivalent of Adolf Hitler in 1942 "I'm in Paris. how dare you invade me. How dare you bomb my city? It's mine." This is no more the rule of the Senate than it was the rule of the Senate before not to filibuster.

I am sick of the Hitler comparisions, they're unfair. As to Stalin, who compared Bush to Stalin? Stalin's character was somewhat admirable, or rather intriguing, but Bush isn't near as interesting.

It isn't fair to compare them. Hitler was a giant douche. Bush is merely a turd-sandwich.

Um...Stalin was a totalitarian propogandist prick who killed millions more than Hitler...nothing admirable there methinks.

No. One's character/personality is seperate from one's actions, though they may affect or influence each other.

The idiot is confused as usual. From what I have seen, people have been comparing him to Palpatine who designed the destruction of the Republic into an Empire.

The ignoring of the Constitution and War powers act to start wars and gain more power as a result.

There was a lot of talk about 'appeasement' 'Neville Chamberlain'-style and Munich... let's talk about something a bit earlier. Let's talk about the start of Hitler's 'conquests' the re-occupation of the demilitarized Rheinland in 1936. This was the 'industrial heart of Germany' the home of Krupp at Essen, among others. The Locarno Treaty said that it would be demilitarized and this was enforced (to an extent) by French troops across the border.

Well by 1936, with Germany rebuilding (and secretly re-arming) Hitler goes to the Reichstag and opens his speech with a warning of the threat of the Communist East (Drang Nach Osten!) how they are conspiring to destroy Germany (shades of Al Qaida) and then he releases the bomb - France is Soviet Russia's ally! So German troops (even as he speaks) are going to re-occupy the Rheinland. Then he says "Germany will not be the aggressor/fire the first shot in this war!"

Then in 1939, the German intelligence bureau takes some 'political prisoners', dresses them in Polish army uniforms and shoots them within German borders (shades of WMD) so that Hitler has the 'excuse' he needs to go to war with Poland. Same politics, same fictional war.

The point is, the German people of 1936 and 1939, much maligned as they are now, all they thought and felt was pride and joy at being able to defend their country, their national integrity, their futures. They never thought they were in the wrong. But did that make them right?

And boy does that ass hat deserve it.

That man has don eso many things to act like Hitler, he desereves the recognition for giving Bush the idea.

Stalin personality was indeed intriguing, but really no different than other dictators and megalomaniacs over history: paranoid, power-hungry, controlling, sociopathic, xenophobic and potentially sexually insecure.
